Wow .. I Love the 3rd round of the FA Cup ... I appreciate my team were knocked out my a team several leagues below yesterday but watching the Newport game today really cheered me up.
Well done Gillingham, Newport, Oldham and Barnet... it give me hope to see all these part-time and lower league footballers getting their day in the sun.

I'm not familiar with British lower divisions but it's always good to see lower tier teams knock out teams from upper divisions.
I heard that Bielsa's Leeds lost to Queens Park Rangers.

yes but they are only 4 places away from each other in the same division. the newport's, gillingham results were league 2 and 1 respectively (Division 4 and 3 in old money) against premiership (division 1 as I still call it Non-league Barnet beat a team Sheff U (division 2) 84 places above them the the english football system at sheffield's home ground. Terrific result.

felt sorry for all those lower league teams, the draw has not been kind to them
newport get 'boro away, oldham get doncaster away...i guess barnet might do something against brentford ...
I spoke to an oldham fan he said the 90k they get as winners would be dwarfed if they could have drawn man u or arsenal away as they would take 40-45% of the gate money and man do they need the money. their manager is a caretaker manager who also caretaker manages the academy team. He had a ticket in the away end for the fulham match as he is a fan as well...and then got given the job !

Heartbreaking .... he was onboard... When I posted on Saturday I was genuinely looking forward to see him play. I am currently hoping he and the pilot are somehow well but I appreciate now as the search has been called off tonight it is looking increasingly difficult. My thoughts are with the families of Sala and the Pilot tonight.

Heartening to see the football community pulling together enough funding to restart the search, as of today it looks like it has reached £300k. Everyone from world famous players to your average football fan contributing. I hope it gets a conclusion.
What a draining week it has been though, the constant media reports which went from vague to desperate in the matter of hours , the poor families, friends, colleagues, clubs are still very much going through it. Today his sister/family left Cardiff and have arrived in Guernsey and met with the searchers.
My heart goes out to them and I wish them all the strength to get through this.

Hi dillwyn , This has touched the heart of anyone and everyone connected with football - players and supporters alike. My thoughts are with Emiliano's family and friends. It's they that need love and support now.

dillwyn, I read your first message only now that I'm back from my holidays (I departed exactly on the 19th) but I saw the news on TV about the plane disappearing and from then on I was following. Incredible how it all ended up. How sad. I wonder where the mistake was, if there was any. Good on the Welsh, French and in general worldwide football community for all the support they provided to the Sala family during all this horrible time. It doesn't fix anything, but it's the best they can do.
