eloneen: Happy Birthday ! :D Jan 13, 2019 6:02:39 GMT
eloneen: Today is National Rubber Ducky Day! As a bird enthusiast, I thought you'd like knowing you share your birthday with Rubber Duckie from Sesame Street,, which is why this day was chosen to honor all rubber ducks. lol Jan 13, 2019 14:11:31 GMT
vlogdance: What a great day to have your birthday, - have a quacking time. :) Jan 13, 2019 14:20:05 GMT
BIuebird: Thanks ! Oh wow, that's cool! I didn't realize that the 13th is National Rubber Duck Day. :D Jan 13, 2019 15:54:35 GMT
orioles70: we had an earthquake off the coast of Maryland this evening - quite rare, folks in Ocean City are on the lookout for a 5 cm tsunami (the quake was only 4.7) Jan 16, 2019 1:14:30 GMT
BIuebird: Ooo, that's a little scary, ! We have a small fault line not far from where I live, and we get small quakes every couple of years, too. Usually I am asleep when they happen and miss the excitement, though. Jan 16, 2019 14:41:00 GMT
BIuebird: My new phone's predictive text is top notch, by the way. I typed the word "light" earlier, and it suggested "orchestra." lol Jan 16, 2019 14:42:20 GMT
BSJ: Did you experience any of the quake, ? Jan 17, 2019 0:16:01 GMT
BSJ: That is amazing, ! :D Jan 17, 2019 0:17:25 GMT
orioles70: no , we had one about 10 years ago that I felt (the one that damaged the Washington Monument) and years ago when I lived in Ohio there was one strong enough to feel, but the Ocean City one was totally un-noticed in the Baltimore area Jan 17, 2019 3:07:11 GMT
Helmut83: Dear forumheads, I'll be absent from Saturday until Sunday February 3rd. I'm going on a vacation trip to the Northwestern Patagonia. I'm going to try to take a few pictures for sharing on the tourism thread. Jan 17, 2019 17:35:43 GMT
BIuebird: Thanks for the heads up, , enjoy your vacation! It sounds like fun.:D Jan 17, 2019 17:41:07 GMT
BSJ: . I live in Toledo, Ohio and a quake struck us around the mid-1980's. I was on the second floor of the house and felt the structure sway. It lasted such a short time, I wondered if it really happened. An unusual experience. Jan 17, 2019 18:53:12 GMT *

Timeblue: We were on the Greek island of Rhodes back in 1999 a few weeks after Turkey had a major quake. Our hotel room was on the top floor and we were woken in the night by an aftershock that shook the bed, not a nice feeling but also amazed at the power of it... Jan 17, 2019 23:26:11 GMT
Helmut83: I'll fill in the forms when I come back, , I will! ::m2214:: Thanks and ! See you all guys in a couple of weeks! Jan 18, 2019 7:04:08 GMT
Horacewimp: We experienced a quake while on holiday in Crete years ago, we were having breakfast when the whole room and cups started shaking, not nice. I also noticed the small quake that happened in the Black Country again years ago, this happened at night we woke Jan 18, 2019 8:47:01 GMT
Horacewimp: when the dog sensed it and barked ( she would never normally bark at night) some 5-10 seconds before it actually hit us. Jan 18, 2019 8:48:30 GMT
BSJ: Yeah and piggys fly, me friend ! Safe trip. Jan 18, 2019 23:45:21 GMT *
