Yes mate, that second leg that never played was bonkers... its going to Madrid isn't it?... what do you think I think Argentina is shameful. It embarrasses me. It's a decadent country, dominated by maffias and a way too big portion of the society is sick in the head. In that sense, football is not an island; it reflects what's going on in the country, with the people. Some journalists try to use the old cliche " it's 15 or 20 imbeciles ruining the party of 70,000 people", but I'm afraid it's not like that. Sure, there are decent people who just want to attend a football game and have fun, but the proportion of imbeciles is worrysome big. Honorable mention to the Swissman Gianni Infantino (FIFA's president), who was present at River Plate's stadium and was pressing hard for the game to be played even when Boca's captain was unable to play due to the attack. That's 1st world pushing for more 3rd world decadence. Then he denied everything. I think the whole thing is a big clown's act. A game that has been suspended due to a brick being thrown at the player's bus and injuring a player has been transformed into an opportunity of making money by the ridiculous and degrading measure of taking the show to Madrid. Can you imagine a UEFA Champions League final between Manchester United and Liverpool being played in Rio de Janeiro, Montevideo or Buenos Aires? As a Boca fan I was as excited about this game as I ever was. The whole country and continent was. It was going to be the biggest two games in the history of Argentine football at club level and the best Copa Libertadores final ever. The first game didn't disappoint. Everything was set for an incredible finale... and then Argentina's decadence strikes again. Honestly, I barely care about the game tomorrow now. It's all so ridiculous it has lost all seriousness and I'm not even excited about it. Think about this: the Copa Libertadores de America is called like that in honor of José de San Martín and Simón Bolivar, the two main figures in the independence of South American countries from Spanish domination. Where's the final of the Copa Libertadores going to be played? In Spain. Biggest irony possible...

What should be something to be celebrated has turned to shit and it is not acceptable. Money will always corrupt any kind of joy and those who profit most will always turn it into an excuse. All i can hope is it is as temporary as it should be....

Look, I think the situation regarding football in Argentina is not that different than the problem there was in England with the hooligans during the '80s. And when someone with the will to solve it came, it was solved. It is possible. You need someone with guts and who's not profiting himself too with the situation.

The gentrification of the game (mainly by the money and police camera's in the ground) has driven the hooliganism to the surrounding areas....mind you, no different to rugby...although they call it high jinks...there are more arrests in cardiff on the day on one rugby international than there is in an entire season of football. they don't mention the welsh rugby fans doing exactly the same to the english rugby coach a few years back..broken windows, no injuries thankfully

Ah, I didn't know you were a Liverpool fan...
Still, Paul McCartney was an Everton fan when he was young.

At times you speak over the limited amount of information you get, and the media tells you whatever they want to tell you (and hide whatever they want to hide). I guess I didn't know about the subject in depth.

There are not many team sports that you can mix openly with the opposing fans and have a drink or two but with rugby league you can. I remember going to Wembley a few years back for a final and the police there told us that it was a pleasure to come to these games as opposed to football, just because there was so little trouble. Like I said earlier though, it is slowly seeping into our game...

The violence in football is one reason my daughter has started following F1 with me. You can go to a race wearing a Red Bull hat and Ferrari t shirt and no one cares. People support the drivers and teams but also appreciate if the opposition has done well and will applaud that, if your favourite driver or car breaks down then most will swop allegiance to another team for that race. I’ve been to three races now with no sign of violence or even feeling threatened in fact you all feel like one big family.

Now the football ground at Cardiff is very safe, so much so they have been voted family club of the year several times recently and have had man u , chelsea, barcelona reps all turning up to see what they are doing.
They have free activities (including playstation (with fifa 18), faceprinting, dance troops , football skills activities. the away fans are placed NEXT to the family stand and apart from the odd bit of bad language and vile national anthem signing it is generally good....yesterday it was design christmas bauble and put on the tree at the ground...all free.
last time they were in the prem (I'm not sure they are doing it this time) to make the away fans feel at home, they used to put on guest pies/beer (so if we were playing leciester say then it would be the local pie/beer of that area. and the away end catering staff wore the away teams kit...a bit of fun bit it was to lighten it up a bit.
There was one day where a steward even changed the wheel on an away supporters car as he had flat tyre... and by the time he came out of the ground it was changed

It's sad that such a beautiful sport and entertaining spectacle is tied to violence in so many parts of the world. Hey, one of the guys aprehended was an Aston Villa fan from Sutton Coldfield. At the same time, our fearless leader Horacewimp is missing on a mysterious trip no one knows much of. Putting two and two together... smileys-whistling-823718
