On tonight's edition of "The Chase", one of the questions was - Electric Light Orchestra had a hit in the 1970's with "The Diary of Horace?"

Yesterday as the track team ran their warmup laps they were playing Mr Blue Sky ☀️ Edit: I was happy to see several of them cheer when they heard it come on

In Nashville for the NFL draft, the fans are “Standin’ in the Rain” to watch. It would be a lot more fun if they had a band, especially ELO playing between picks.

Last week on my trip to the Isle of Wight I heard ELO on the radio twice.
First time it was on a local station playing in a tiny craft shop whose speciality was goods stamped with magical fairy silhouettes. It was 'Telephone Line' so of course I had to hang around the shop until the song finished and of course I had to buy something stamped with a fairy silhouette.
Second time was on the way home on the coach. Even the extremely poor reception and quietness of Radio 2 didn't prevent me from hearing the word "ELO" amongst the muffled sounds (I say hear - it was more of a 6th sense). It took me a bit longer to decipher that the song was 'Hold On Tight'. Nothing looks weirder than me trying to dance in my seat to a song that can barely be heard by everyone else which I can hear quite clearly because it lives in my head.

heard The Wilbury Twist on the radio this week - can't even remember the last time I heard that one, but the radio station does a thing in the morning called "the hidden link" where they play 3 songs and you have to guess what they had in common Waltz #2 by Elliott Smith Harlem Shuffle by Bob & Earl Wilbury Twist by Traveling Wilbury's
so what did they have in common? dancing but that wasn't enough, you had to know that it was International Dance Day um, has anyone heard of that?

...and yet again on The Chase, who had a hit in the 1970s with Roll over Beethoven. ELO ! I shouted very fastly at the TV before the question was finished.

British forumheads: starting in a minute on BBC4, a repeat of "Top Of The Pops 1978 - Big Hits". My telly guide promises us songs from Blondie, Elvis Costello, Kate Bush... and our very own favourite Brummie band. Bet I know which song they'll play..

You bet right! I keep forgetting to say, when I wake up the radio alarm is on Radio 4 who are usually giving horse racing tips for the day at at that time. Recently they were bragging about one which romped home - it was called "Where's Jeff?"

The Centre Pompidou is a very cool place! I used to hang out there a lot when I was in Paris! Here's another "almost".... On the NPR radio quiz show "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" on Saturday, the celebrity guest was baseball great Ozzie Smith, also known as The Wizard of Oz. Because of his nickname, he had to answer trivia questions about the movie by the same name. One of the questions was about things from the movie popping up in unexpected places.... I was just waiting for the cover of Eldorado to be mentioned, but alas, they missed the opportunity.

Listening to the radio driving home from school the other day when I heard the announcement for the concert June 22!! Had to wait for a whole other song to play after they mentioned the concert before they played Don’t Bring Me Down.
