It was a chilly evening and Jeff wore a big black puffer coat. He was rusty after a 4 year layoff, but he seemed to warm up (literally & musically) as the set progressed. He had the set list on the floor at his feet and at one point he looked down and joked: “oh here’s one I know” before blasting into Turn to Stone. Did he enjoy it enough to consider a tour? If so, I’m guessing the rider will include a requirement for temperature controlled venue at 74 degrees. Funny you should say that about the temperature. I often wonder if all those years in the LA sunshine mean Jeff feels the cold a bit. I remember the Sheffield gig on the Wednesday night before Wembley Stadium. I was there with my daughter. It was the hottest day on record in the UK with the temperature touching 90 degrees F. Although the aircon was on in the arena it was fighting a losing battle as it was absolutely stifling in the hall. I was wearing shorts and t-shirt and was soaked in sweat. When the band arrived on stage there was Jeff dressed in his black jeans and his dark grey padded jacket. Not a drip of sweat on him I remember thinking “blimey how can he wear that in this heat?” On the Wembley or Bust film there’s footage taken before that gig and he’s wearing an even thicker quilted coat. Mind you I wouldn’t give a damn what coat he wore if he came back to the UK to do a couple of shows.

I personally think that a full blown tour will never happen but one offs like this will still take place. Who knows though, only Jeff....

I saw a couple examples (like Evil Woman and the riff entrance on ROB) where maybe he isn't in that great of shape for a full blown tour in the USA or UK. Sad to say, I bet he is not going to Australia either (sad to say for the folks on this board who have been waiting since 1978).

Being a fan who saw him in his prime, it's watching a loved one grow old.

It's funny how all the hairy and bearded men playing cello and violin have been replaced by women. I have nothing against it, just noticed it.

But on the flipside of aging rock stars, the new Stones album is strong from start to finish. I have listened to the album front to back and there is not a dud in the bunch.

Just a shame that the classic era ELO can't play a couple final songs together for old time's sake (Jeff, Bev, Mik, Mel). 3 can't make it (Richard, Kelly, Hugh). Something like this Vets gig - couldn't Roy at least join Jeff on stage for a couple Move / early ELO songs - like Do Ya and 10538?

I was watching the full performance(which is now up on YT) and did feel it looked and sounded a bit ropey. I think we've seen and heard the best of it all now and it's time to put JLs ELO into the archive. I doubt very much I would pay to see him/them again, assuming they toured again, although I suspect there might just be one final "farewell" outing. It just all feels very tired and old now and as sentimental and nostalgic as I am for reliving the good old days, sometimes you just have to admit, it's really over.Donovan Hepburn has gone grey and has piled on so much weight he looks like he barely fits behind his kit now (although I'm one to talk!!) The legacy of ELO is secure and the memories preserved and alive for all of us and though it was great to to see Jeff back again for one last ride, I think it's time to put it to bed now.

The main core of JL's ELO are in the take that live band so will be busy next year as they are touring too. I imagine the opportunities are running out now. I noticed that Milton was saying Sunday was 10 years to the day since the band got together to play ELO music (even before being dubbed JL's ELO).
Maybe JL just wants to retire and why not he's now 75/76

Not seen the full show yet, only these vids but to my eyes Jeff just seems to be going through the motions and he's STILL singing the same songs. I too wouldn't pay good money to see this.
