AI is the future, whether we like it or not.

IMHO AI in question is probably just automation of techniques / tools that are now is use in studios, technology has come a long way since FAAB/RL clean up activities. Question would be is George on it...given he wasn't a fan?

I suppose you could tell the AI machine: a) give me a version as if George Martin were producing b) now give me a version as if Jeff Lynne were producing c) give me an old fashioned 1963 version as if the band were on Ed Sullivan d) now how would you make the song if you were in charge, Siri?

I have heard them already. Some of them are better than others. This may or not be the last one. We'll know soon enough.

I just got back from training in generative AI in Utrecht, Netherlands. What a future we will be looking at! AI needs to be responsible and trustworthy.

In the right hands it can be very useful. In the wrong hands, it can trigger terrible consequences. The problem is: how to prevent the latter?

Certainly it is having an impact already in the creative arts (music, paintings, other art forms).
In the ELO world, it would be interesting to redo Balance of Power, but this time bringing in Bev's traditional sounding drums and Kelly's bass/background vocals from Out of the Blue - training AI to replicate their parts and inserting them into Jeff's and Richard's parts on that 1986 album. I would love to hear the result.
Maybe someone in the ELO world is already attempting that.

Don't see Jeff mentioned or in the photos, so I assume that he missed the birthday party for Ringo - can't comment on the last Beatles track, though.

Leaked news, from an unlikely source, one of Penn and Teller has said after a tour at Abbey Road (with Giles Martin)..they have used Peter Jackson's AI to remove the background tv sound on Lennon's voice. Assuming George Harrison bits from the threetles sessions, added new bass and drums (after Ringo had originally said No but was persuaded and recorded at home). They've added newly recorded strings and brass so not sure this is a JL activity at all. Sounds more like Giles Martin / Paul McCartney thing to me. Most dispiriting of all they have used altered-key out takes from Because. Now as wonderful as those harmonies are that song that feels a step too far.

My understanding is that AI was used purely to extract John's voice (and possibly piano) from a more recent alternate source for one of his Now And Then home demos than what Yoko offered the remaining Beatles on a cassette for the Anthology project, with the largest issue being an inconsistent background mains hum. Since this wouldn't rely on the initial and relatively primitive EQ-based restoration work done in the 1990s by Marc Mann, it's unlikely he would be credited on the final version, and similarly, I wouldn't hold your breath on Jeff getting anything more than a passing thanks for producing any sessions George may have contributed to. On the other hand, if they're flying in digitally manipulated background vocals from Because, that could mean Jeff's input has been entirely bypassed. As for how this final reunion track is to be released, I've seen mention of the two-volume compilation set from 1973 being massively expanded into a new 3CD/6LP retrospective, much of its content showcasing "demixes" only possible through the same process introduced via the recent Get Back documentary series. Whatever the case, we're apparently due for an official announcement any day now in anticipation of a street date around October or November, followed by a Giles Martin remix of Rubber Soul next year.

I'm so sad that Jeff hasn't been invited to the production. I distinctly recall Paul saying he would be calling Jeff to finish the song 'one of these days, you know'. Very, very, very dissapointed

The production on this seems to be a team affair - Paul, Ringo, Giles Martin (George's son) - and possibly Jeff. More will obviously revealed next week.
