Now THAT is something that I would watch! I love a bit of PiL but surely it goes against the punk ethic appearing on something like this?

It is quite punk though, to do something totally unexpected like that. There is so much venom for Mr R on Twitter over this, saying he's sold out etc - he's probably loving every bit of it

John Lydon has failed in his bid to represent Ireland, PIL could only finish 4th with their song.

Hmmm, can't say I'm surprised. I've not heard the whole song but the part I did hear didn't sound like a winner....

When he gets home, John will play the recording of the show for Nora. Hopefully she'll point at the screen and go "Johnnie!" I think this was much more than trying to win, for him. He's totally dedicated to his beautiful wife. I don't think I'd've been the only one with moist eyes while he sang. As for the winner... Up until now I hadn't known of Wild Youth. It prompted me to look them up on YT. They're pretty good! I think that their other stuff is much better than We Are One. That one sounds like it's been written using the How To Write A Eurovision Song instruction book. I don't think RTÉ will be troubled with staging the 2024 contest

Hard to believe 43 years… my favourite Eurovision song ever, still have my copy. Wasn't 'What's Another Year' from 1980? I think this one was 1987?

Oh no! That's so sad, John must be completely devastated. It will be a bit of comfort for him to know she heard Hawaii before she left. RIP Nora

Ok, I've wiped away my tears for another year. Wild Youth won't be reprising their performance in the Grand Final.
We can enjoy this instead. Something with a strong Eurovision connection...

Baltimore has a rooting interest in Eurovision this year. The Austrian entry references our home boy Edgar Allan Poe.
