Thanks for joining, good to see you all over here, the forum was easier to set up than I thought so you are all welcome. I would like the forum to become a friendly place for all to visit so if you have any ideas or areas you would like me to change then please ask. Helmut I have shocked myself and managed to edited your username, it now has a capital letter. I think it is great horacewimp, just one pet peave, but not a big deal. The title "Jeff Lynne's ELO Forum", since it not really Jeff Lynne's forum, but yours, maybe it should have a different title? It seems like "Horace Wimp's ELO Forum" would be more appropriate on a couple levels, one it reflects you the one who started it, and two, even if you weren't, since it's a famous ELO song, "Horace Wimp's ELO Forum" would make total sense and be a kind of nice and humorous touch for the fans. All that said, I'm not telling you what to do, and I will not object if you stick with the title or go with a totally different idea than my suggestion. Just wondering what Jeff Lynne would think of finding out is was "Jeff Lynne's" ELO forum! Whatever you do or don't do regarding that, thanks again for the forum and keep up the great work; we all greatly appreciate it! Jim PS What if people provided additional suggestions for a possible forum name, and then you made a poll of it and we voted on it? Just an idea, feel free to ignore!

Hey, man, how am I supposed to call you "Rob" after so much time of calling you "DiscoverMe"? I would have bet that even on your driving licence that was the name which appeared. ... and I'll get around to retrieving that terrifying G'mork avatar in a little while, Herr Helmut. I'd argue that the original one you're using is much more pleasant, though. Yeah, I wouldn't argue with that. I'm sure you noticed the ELO logo on her T-shirt, didn't you? In any case, I don't want newcomers to imagine that I'm a young, attractive female teenager. I'd rather have them think I'm an evil, sharp-teethed bear that works to destroy people's imagination and dreams.

Is it "sharp-teethed" or "sharp-toothed"? Or none of them?

Hey, man, how am I supposed to call you "Rob" after so much time of calling you "DiscoverMe"? I would have bet that even on your driving licence that was the name which appeared. Ha! I came up with the other username 7 years ago, and didn't much care for it after about 48 hours. Yeah, I wouldn't argue with that. I'm sure you noticed the ELO logo on her T-shirt, didn't you? Yeah, the logo was noticed... after I took off a pair of cheap plastic x-ray glasses and violently threw them across the room in anger.
Didn't you say that she is or was a girlfriend of yours at one time?In any case, I don't want newcomers to imagine that I'm a young, attractive female teenager. I'd rather have them think I'm an evil, sharp-teethed bear that works to destroy people's imagination and dreams. Oh come on. You're too decent and nice of a guy to be the latter... and too much of a man to be the former.

'Speaking of sharp teeth: does anyone know whether or not Chippa, Nick or Beachboy will be involved with this forum in any capacity?

Yeah, the logo was noticed... after I took off a pair of cheap plastic x-ray glasses and violently threw them across the room in anger. Hahaha... Didn't you say that she is or was a girlfriend of yours at one time? Did I? If so, I must have been kidding. I mean, she seems to meet all the conditions required to be my girlfriend (you know, being an ELO fan and stuff), but I'd bet you couldn't even find one ELO shirt all accross this damn country, so it couldn't be.

You did when you first joined, which made me wonder whether you were kidding or not since I had seen that same photo posted on other sites... but I didn't want to seem like an ass by questioning you further.
ELO shirts aren't too common up north, either. Other than on the internet, you most likely won't find them anywhere besides in specialty / special interest shops located in big cities.

The domain name is now set in stone to alter it would mean developing a new board again. You are probably right about the title, I will change it, it is only really cosmetic.

'Speaking of sharp teeth: does anyone know whether or not Chippa, Nick or Beachboy will be involved with this forum in any capacity? None of the old guys are involved with the running of the forum, I have been in contact with Chippa both prior to and after setting up the forum to tell him of my plans which he was fine with. I have also told Chippa he will be welcome here any time, that also goes for Nick and Beachboy. ELO Forever was an excellent run forum and I hope we can carry on the good work here. It would be good if Nick came over and carried on his Polls, I enjoyed those.

ELO ELO ELO, what's goin' on 'ere then? Great forum guys, and I agree the non-dark colour scheme is good. (Yay, British spelling!)
I'd also like to request capitalisation for my screen name please...
And FWIW, my thought about the forum title is that it's probably best for that to have been changed, but I took the meaning to be a forum about Jeff Lynne's ELO, rather than Jeff Lynne's forum about ELO.
