Can you imagine this show if Mike Mansfield HAD got his hands on it?

Mik singing along to Turn To Stone = ELO heaven. Mik and Mel really seemed to enjoy themselves.

Can you imagine this show if Mike Mansfield HAD got his hands on it? The effects are more restrained in comparison with Wembley '78, but I still noticed a few identifiable hallmarks of a possible Mike Mansfield production, which is hardly surprising when you consider he was Jet's go-to video director from around 1975 to 1981. If this "new" footage has taught me anything, it's that all his video trickery was likely applied in real time rather than during the editing process, perhaps explaining his high turnaround. For example, there's a point where a vertical split screen filter moves slightly, suggesting whoever was in charge didn't feel the initial division had been centred quite right. Now I think about it, Fusion was relatively tame as well, so maybe Wembley was a product of him trying to match the spectacle on stage and jazzing up a show where most of the band members were playing it bit safe in the company of royalty?

For me, if anything, this particular group of 7 had one heck of a wide range of personalities on stage. And their musical skills have been given short shrift in the many years since this group was broken up, starting with Hugh and Mel at the beginning of 1980. I always thought that Jeff never used the musical skills of this group to their fullest capacity - after all, they largely served Jeff's songs - and I can't help but wonder if this particular group could have taken ELO to greater heights than at the end of The Big Night Tour. And what Knebworth in August 1979 could have been - with no spaceship and truly uncorking ELO on stage. Indeed, ELO could have taken The Walrus even farther than Lennon thought.

Yes, there is certainly another show. ELOdevi and The Acetaters are proud to say that Live in Canada is uploaded and the links will be provided below. It will premiere Sunday, 3 July at 5:00 PM UTC. Set your clocks please so you can hopefully make it! A few things to note about this concert: - It is NOT complete. It begins midway through Tightrope's intro. We made a small edit so this opening is a little more smooth.
- Mik's Violin Solo has audio damage about midway through it which eventually clears up. An effort was made to fix this up as best as possible.
- The format will be the same. The 4:3 will have the full video as it was, with the watermarks in place that couldn't be removed. The widescreen crop will have the watermarks removed but less video to see as a result.

ELO live shows are like buses, you don't see any for ages then two come along at once! Where are these coming from, anyway?
And speaking of which, is there any concerts coming from the Time Tour?

That was my thought too, there have always been rumours of a Time show that was filmed. Could one have been filmed and immediately squirrelled away by a enthusiast? Were these two shows a surprise to everyone? they certainly were for me as I had no idea that they existed, no-one ever mentioned that they might exist.

I thought I had read here that there were rumors that at one one USA gig was filmed on the Time Tour. Hope springs eternal!

They've been available on the Historic Films Archive website for some years but only for licensing to professional film producers & documentary film makers. I don't see any Time concert on the archive but there are a few other interesting things there. Mainly US TV shows with ELO, The Move & Roy Wood. Hopefully Jorge & The Acetaters have managed to capture more of this stuff. My gratitude to them.

there have always been rumours of a Time show that was filmed I think we may finally have an answer to that mystery, as the Historic Films Archive also lists a variation of the Cleveland '78 show that appears to open with Twilight. My guess is that it's a later edit with the studio version of this song edited in as an introduction, perhaps for broadcast to coincide with the US leg of the Time Tour. Could this be what had been rumoured to exist for years? I'd say it's very possible, though audience footage of at least one '81 concert apparently might still be out there...
