Well I predicted ELO would announce something in October.... there’s still almost 3 hours to go.... Not looking good is it?

I'm very tempted to fly to the UK in November or December to see Quill in concert - a chance to see Bev Bevan live in concert for the first time in 40 years (November 2, 1981).

But did you say what year the October was in Good point... Just checked Twitter ... one announcement, last chance to enter the Wembley or bust book competition.

I'm not sure if any one has already posted this, but on YouTube there are 4 sides of Time Double album, details say: "In celebration of the album's 40th anniversary, we're excited to present a reconstruction of ELO's 'Time' in the double album format! This is based on the tracklist for a set of acetate discs dated May 20, 1981, containing what is believed to be two unheard ELO songs. This mix contains placeholders substituting the two unreleased tracks from the discs. To be very clear, it does not contain the actual tracks, but attempts to reconstruct the contents of the discs in a way that makes sense and is enjoyable to listen to." Side A Side B Side C Side D

Time contains some brilliant songs, but the production, instrumentation, and vocals overwhelm them. This album is sort of a bloated mess, which is a shame because like I said, most of the songs are among the best Jeff Lynne has written. I'd like to hear a stripped down version, similar to The Beatles Let It Be Naked album. Imagine, if you will, songs like Rain Is Falling or Twilight with basic piano and acoustic guitar backing. Something to think about.

Something to think about. I love Twilight the way it is: lush, loud and pompous. Songs like that would never work with just an acoustic guitar and piano imo.
But songs like Rain Is Falling, Ticket To The Moon or 21st Century Man could also work in a stripped down version, though.

Who are the plastic tulips? Is it some offshoot of the bug club? I'm the manager of the channel; no, we aren't associated with The Bug Club. It's just a hobby channel that happens to have many ELO-related projects 😄
