I said that she came with lip surgery already made. Oh well, all newborns are ugly as hell but she's my niece! I won't be able to know her personally for two weeks, nor any of her uncles/aunts or grandparents. Sorry for deviating the subject of the thread, but this could be a reminder us that good things can still happen in the middle of this disaster. Let's go back to it now.

Thanks BSJ , queenofthehours , eloneen , Horacewimp , unomusette and all who sent me good wishes about my sister's situation. I'm happy to announce that in the middle of this chaos (and now since 30 minutes ago it's complete, utter, unbelievable chaos... I'll further comment about this later) my niece Margarita was born! Just 20 minutes ago. It was soon and unexpected, but I think it was better because right now they were able to provide her all the care she needs, and maybe in a week they wouldn't have been. I couldn't be any happier and relieved.  This is wonderful news . Some happiness and light amid the fear and darkness. Margarita is a lovely name (is it after the Wilburys song?). Happy 0 birthday to the new arrival!
This means she's a Pieces and has just avoided being Aries  .

Helmut83 - looks like On the Third Day and she's already copying our favorite band - showing her navel  it also looks like she has her eyes closed, concentrating on a melody with her hands ready to conduct the orchestra in just 2 or 3 more beats

This morning radio stations all over Europe played You'll Never Walk Alone at exactly the same time as a sign of solidarity - and support - against the virus. I wasn't the only one with tears in my eyes after it was played. |

Congrats to you and your family, Helmut83 , glad to see that Margarita came into the world healthy and before the situation becomes even more stressful than it already is. While not as strict as the quarantine in other places, a "shelter in place" order was issued for all of California yesterday. We're still allowed to go to the store freely, but there's not much point--there's still no toilet paper, bread, or canned goods to be found on store shelves since the panic buying began here last week. My university also announced yesterday that online instruction will continue for the remainder of the term; I'll be going back to campus tomorrow to move everything out of my dorm room. And I have plenty of bread and canned goods in the pantry there, heh (not that we were terribly worried about it, we already had enough food and toilet paper to last a good few weeks). On the bright side, all this time being stuck at home is giving me plenty of opportunity to practice guitar--I started learning More Than A Feeling and Ma-Ma-Ma Belle yesterday. |
