My dear friends! Many thanks to each and all of you for your beautiful words about my niece's birth! Even though we live so far away from each other and we don't know each other personally -except for a few exceptions-, thus this event shouldn't mean that much to you, it was nice to see that in spite of this somehow Margarita's birth meant a bright note to all of you (and the ones who had commented previously) in the midst of this chaos that's affecting us all, like a reminder that life will go on beyond this. Honestly, it worked like that for me too. queenofthehours : I was waiting to see if someone mentioned the Wilburys song, which happens to be my favorite from them (and not because of this, it's always been). It's no surprise that it was you who realized! orioles70 : good observation, it's true! She looks as if about to direct an orchestra! Or maybe like about to play a flute or clarin. lasttrain929 : thanks for your good wishes and kind words. The name had to be sort of bilingual (or applicable to both Spanish and English) because we speak in Spanish but the girl happens to have an English surname so it had to go well with it too. BIuebird : yes, totally, it was a great relief indeed for us all to know she was born in a moment where beds, doctors and general care are still available. tremblinwilbury : thanks for your beautiful words. It worked that way for us, we were totally immerse in this chaos but this made us look to the future. Buttler : grazie tante, caro amico! Glad to be able to share at least a glimpse of happiness with someone who is in a country that has been devastated in such a terrible way. Grroosss : thank you too for your nice words about my niece's birth, I'm happy to hear you are taking the guitar to make the most out of this quarantine. I agree with BSJ, in a couple of weeks you should treat us with a video to showb us your progress. Thanks me Dude BSJ for that toast, I hope those margaritas are tasting better than ever (or as good as usual). You were so nice that you even that she's a doll; come on, she's as ugly as an alien like all newly born babies, but she'll get better with time. Anyway, this can be a celebration or just an excuse to give another listen to this wonderful song; as George Harrison said, the most Wilbury song the Wilburys made:

Congratulations, Uncle Helmut! Mr Producer has a new singer to work with! So glad it all went well and Margarita's here safely. Tell her she's already known "all over the world".

(by the way, I have TP for food! ) You are eating Tom Petty Big apologies Helmut83 I thought I had posted about the birth of Margarita but realised I hadn’t, I must have been distracted searching for toilet paper. Anyway many congratulations to you and your family, my Dad RIP always said that newborn babies looked like Winston Churchill, I think I would rather look like an alien.

Oh come on guys, no need to apologize as if there were an obligation to tell me something. Thanks a lot for your words and congrats! Vlog, for the time being I won't be testing her to work with me so until she's an opera singer I'd rather not have her shouting much. Horace, Churchill... totally true, it's a matter of putting newborns a hat on and they look the same. Dillwyn, she's the third of her generation so she probably won't get spoiled that much by her grandparents and uncles, but she's the first by sister #2 so it's probably her parents who will do most of the spoiling, although I'll probably have my share too. Hope your kid is OK by now.

I think this general quarantine is not sustainable on the long run.
In the Northern Hemisphere quarantines make more sense because you have just entered spring and temperatures will soon start rising, so you can aim at retaking relative normality in the summer, maybe some 3 or 4 months from now.
In the Southern Hemisphere, particularly on the (relatively) cold part of it where Buenos Aires is situated, we have 8 months of cold ahead of us. You cannot stop a country for 8 months -particularly a poor one like Argentina- because the solution will soon turn out to be worse than the problem. Basic goods like food, cleaning articles and medicines will soon be in shortage, not to mention that tons of people are being deprived of producing money to pay for those goods and at some point will run out of money.
So, as apocalyptical as this may sound, I fear at some point they will have to tell people to go back to their works and normal life regardless of coronavirus, and "may God be with you". The health system will get saturated and deaths will happen galore, but at that point it will be better than facing a general revolt of people fighting for food and medicines for their own lives.

I do think that the quarantine/ isolation at home is necessary in the short/medium term to slow the rate of infection, ease the strain on the medical system and save lives. I am hopeful that within a few months that there will be some treatments available to lessen the severity of symptoms for those who become infected once the quarantine/ isolation requirement is lifted, even though a vaccine is at least a year away. That may keep them out of the intensive care units, perhaps, and further ease the strain and exposure risk for some of our medical professionals. With most of those who have already been infected by that time having recovered, and having acquired immunity and moving out into society, it might be less treacherous later on... I'm no expert, and maybe this is wishful thinking, but that is my fervent hope.

I read that the isolation would be relaxed and then reintroduced a few times to allow a bit more infection (and therefore immunity) when the hospitals have capacity to deal with the serious cases. This aims to avoid a massive spike and instead have a few smaller peaks. I really hope things don't end up as extreme as Helmut83 is predicting in countries like Argentina. These are unprecedented times but hopefully we will learn quickly to avoid the worst.
