Jim Hoban from The Orchestra fan group posted a link to this segment where Hux is being interviewed about his experience as a teen growing up in Greece. Sounds a bit like the theme to "Footloose". The Greek authorities were not fans of rock and roll.

I never thought the Greek authorities would be that strict, what a place to grow up though.

Hux broke his left hand last week and will have a cast for six weeks then some physical therapy 🥺
He missed a pair of Orchestra gigs in Pennsylvania but should be ready for the Florida and cruise season. Guitar lessons and house concerts will have to wait a bit.

I went down a rabbit hole on Google Maps and came up with this pointless bit of geography.
If you start out in Shard End and drive towards Liverpool, you can stop off for a pint in the village of Huxley.

Hux is not only a gifted songwriter. He does a great job with covers as well. Sometimes straight up note for note reproductions and sometimes reinterpretations. Here's a playlist with 10 Hux covers that have found their way to YouTube. McCartney leads the way with 2 songs, but there's also one each for Lynne, Bowie, Rundgren, Ham (Badfinger), Partridge (XTC), Ralphs (Bad Company), van Leer/Akkerman (Focus), and Holland/Dozier/Holland. www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLBolLF1uGaRdSUiOUZ9EkIa0i4XcPQrBX

A very talented musician and songwriter.
As for the playlist, I was at the July 4, 2005, show where Rockaria was played. Not my fav ELO track, but Mik, Kelly, and the band did a great job with the song.

I was listening to my P. Hux downloads on shuffle and this tune played. I googled Baby Love to see whether Diana Ross was the lead singer (yes) and a photo of her with a leopard came up. That made me think of that old Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn movie (Bringing Up Baby) where "Baby" is a leopard. Next thing you know I had this slideshow uploaded to YouTube.

That made me think of that old Cary Grant and Katherine Hepburn movie (Bringing Up Baby) where "Baby" is a leopard. Next thing you know I had this slideshow uploaded to YouTube. The song "Baby Love" came about as a result of the crowd funding support for his album that preceded the track itself. I was one of the supporters for his prior album and as part of my support he was going to record a song that he and I came up with, and then I was in the recording studio in Bethesda, MD, for the initial sessions. As per the process, Hux and I spoke on the phone and he told me that he wanted to record this song (I had my own list of possibilities). His suggestion was not one I would have thought of in advance. The recording itself was done some time before the pandemic. It was great hanging in the studio with him and the rest of the band for the recording of the basic tracks (convenient for me since I lived in Washington, DC, at the time).
Some time later, he called me and said that the mixing was done and what you are hearing now is the final result. Worked out quite well, IMHO.

it's been hard to find much on YT from Parthenon's 1st solo album but it has recently been uploaded
the 1st track was also the 1st single "Chance to be Loved" and is a great example of Hux's early style he now says the album was "over produced", but other than replacing drum loops with actual drumming, I wouldn't change much the pic I used for the "This song reminds me of you" video is part of the album art from Sunny Nights

A new P Hux video. Here’s the plot of this 3 minute, 20 second odyssey.
A woman is stressed out by the 3 perils of the DC swamp (rioters, plague and an impending meteor strike). Unable to sleep, she consoles herself by listening to her record collection but soon realizes that the only answer is to flee the country. Upon arrival in England, she decides to board a strangely magical bus tour heading from Liverpool to Shard End. The bus stops in Huxley for lunch and she meets Parthenon at the country manor that even he did not realize he owned. Hux hops aboard the bus to help search for Jeff Lynne’s boyhood home. Frustrated by confusing Brummie street signs, they wander into a pub where the world really does look right.
far fetched? perhaps it was all just a dream

Parthenon submitted an entry for NPR's Tiny Desk competition. relatable for those of us who are always a little surprised at just how damned old we've gotten when we look in the mirror each morning
