I really don't get this .On the one hand you say you've had to "fight the elo corner" presumably from people who have no understanding that appreciation of music is subjective. And then you fall into the same trap. I like some of TT's stuff, have seen them live a couple of times and love Jeff's stuff too right from The Idle Race up to now. Please don't get to het up about it!  Lets just say its like Gary Rhodes, Gordon Ramsey (pick an award winning chef of your own choice) working in McDonalds or Burger king. Take skat are processed cheese (IMO). Read back on my comments about this and you will probably get me. After all its only my personal opinion! Looks like I should have expressed my comments on "the most overrated "artist" thread eh? Btw my comment was posted an age ago after many hours of therapy from my psychotherapist wife, sedatives and watching Elo fusion '76 about a gazillion times I seem to be not as "Het" :-D;-) cheers though all of everyones love on this forum seems to be pulling me through and its nice not feeling the "door hitting me on the ass on the way out" after some firey emotional runaway comments from me! Love y'all;-) |

I don't think you upset anyone jefflynnenut, but it was a good rant  That's want the forum is about, for people to air their views and discuss with others, that was you opinion, fair enough others didn't agree, but it would be boring if we were all the same |

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat? Not my personal opinion! And it's not a comment on quality or musical influence either. I just meant that TT were the only band since the Beatles to dominate the charts, sweep the world into a frenzy and cause mass screaming hysteria in fans. When they split up there were even phone lines set up to counsel distraught fans.
Jeff's working with Take That is a good thing. TT managed to re-launch Lulu's career so there's no reason why they can't bring new fans to the genius of Jeff Lynne. |

Boy bands can't even sing a whole song, they can only do a line each. And then one of them tries to force a line out, looks like they have constipation. All this "girl I want to do you" stuff. What? All of them? with one girl? Get a life, most of them fancy their band mates but have to hide it for record sales

Am I honestly on my own with the sheer hatred I have for these untalented, undeserving p**cks? I'm LIVID!!!!!. This has destroyed my weekend!. And NO I won't calm down and Yes I am deadly serious!!!!
