Hi, guys! I want to share with you “Inacwg”, a new original song which I wrote a few weeks ago and just finished recording with the help of two great artists from this forum: Welsh multitalented writer and singer vlogdance on the voice and co-writing lyrics, and Italian piano maestro Buttler on the keys (every piano bit that you can hear is his). This time the song isn’t 100% organic, as I made both the drums part and the bassline by computer, but I think it was what this kind of song needed. I also put up a small set of photos so you can listen to the song from YouTube without having to download it, but the images don’t necessarily match the song or it’s lyrics. In case you want to download the song in MP3 format, here's the link: www.dropbox.com/s/82k02zu8s6aogao/Inacwg.mp3?dl=0DISCLAIMER: any similarity between the lyrics of this song and any experience you may have lived in your life is mere coincidence… I swear!

Another Helmut classic of a witty, playful, and a bit off the wall, song! The talents of vlogdance and Buttler, give a cool vibe. Enjoyed hearing them - a small peek into who they are. All comes together nicely. Good job Mr Producer and crew. Love the vocal play with the word heart.

This is the kind of face I wore just a few minutes ago... Started it up, idly pondering what the flip the title meant, loved the piano intro, very much approved of vlogdance's fab vocals, very Maggie Reilly and that's a big compliment, bach And then...is this what I think it is? It IS!!! I haven't had such an unexpected good laugh out loud for AGES!!! I'm overcome. Still grinning like an idiot as I admire the fab tune, excellent piano skills of Buttler and of course the guitar heroics of Helmut83 - love the guitar on fire pic towards the end by the way, just genius Of course I love it to bits, and it's a fitting memorial to the man himself. Not for the cactus though, I'm not sure if he passed over to the greenhouse in the sky or if the sprawling monster my Nan gave me a few years ago is the actual Wilf. I gave him to her when he was still a tiddler and the one I had back and is now in my kitchen could well be him. More please!

Glad you like it, Uno bach - you see what an inspiration you are to the rest of us. Brilliant kitty face, I hope the shock has worn off now! And thank you for your kind words about the singing. I was hoping it would turn out more Olivia Newton-Vlog than Old Vela Can.

Like it? It's a total triumph, mun!
And congrats to all involved for keeping it such a secret, it must have been hard work to make it come together from all corners of the globe. Every time I think of it, it makes me grin all over again - you lot are LEGENDS!

Thanks a lot Chippa, BSJ and unomusette. All reviews are welcome, but of course the one who I was most looking forward to was yours, Uno, for obvious reasons. Like Vlogdance said, you were kind of the inspirational muse (no pun intended) of the song... well, not you but your funny anecdote -it was the starting point, although all of the rest might have little to do with your particular case- so I was eager to see your reaction. I can imagine your thoughts as the song developed. Probably by the lines where the lady starts wondering how to n--e her c----s you were already thinking "it has to be it!" and looking like the cat on your picture, haha... I'm glad you liked it and had fun with it. Yes, as you imagined, it was some hard work, from the songwriting, to the lyrics, to the recording, to the "edition" (and to keeping it secret ). Both Vlogdance and Buttler were great and had a lot of patience. Sometimes I can get a bit overly enthusiastic and heavy, but the guys managed it like bosses (both of them provided me with several takes so I could choose the one I liked most). Truth is I was intending to write a little jokeful song about the anecdote, record it in one or two days by myself and send it to you, but to be honest I thought it came out way better than I had expected, so once I had it I thought I'd better give that thing a treatment as good as I could. And last, I'm glad that you told Vlogdance how good her singing is and how well it fits the song, no matter if Maggie Reilly or Olivia Newton-John. I had told her too, but she answered me she felt a bit awkward about hearing herself singing so a second opinion might help convincing her.

And BSJ, thanks for your praises, I'm glad you liked it. Did you know where the off the wall lyrics came from?

After a bit of a heavy drinking session last night this is the tonic to get you up and going on a Sunday morning, it is absolutely brilliant Helmut83 very well put together. I saw the title and had no clue what to expect, was this a Spanish word or maybe Welsh when I saw vlogdance was involved, but no on hearing the song it became obvious I Got A Catcus Called Wilf Gibson I read the comments first and saw that vlogdance did vocals, very daring I thought, listened to the song and thought (no disrespect vlogdance) my god you can actually sing and sing well what a great performance vlogdance you should be very proud. The song starts with Buttler piano playing which is faultless , what a great international collaboration, have you given the band a name? To sum up its a big fat YES from me, well done to all involved and thanks for sharing your masterpiece with us, definitely a track for the next forum CD.

Haha, Horacewimp, lol at you thinking Inacwg was Spanish... I'm glad you had a laugh and gave us your "yes" and I hope it didn't make your headache worse. Did you believe for a while that the lyrics were about a guy that the singer had fallen in love with or did you suspect it was about Uno's cactus anecdote? As for the band name, I sent a private message to the guys which I titled "Team Cactus" and Vlogdance said it would work great as a band name, so if Buttler agrees we could call ourselves like that. Now let's see if jrmugz decides to include it in his next CD.

Ooooo... I didn't get the title! Thinking it was a foreign word meaning god knows what. Helmut83 - no, I do not where the "off the wall lyrics came from". You and Vlogdance? I suppose if I thought about it I would - but I don't feel like it right now, thank you. Do tell! vlogdance! Old Vela Can!? An insult to Veg Cans everywhere may I point out!? I'm listening to the song now and picking-up some nifty bits I didn't hear yesterday.

Oh, what a terrific song!
Beautiful intro piano in a style as great as Gary Brooker. Uno's right, Maggie Reilly is certainly a singer who comes to mind with the vocals. Perhaps that's why the track has a bit of an 80s feel? It took a while before I realised it was a love song to a cactus! This tune has everything - great instrument choices, wonderful vocals, great style (at bit indie, a bit pop) and guitar to rival anything the great Jeff could come up with.
Very catchy, it'll stay in my head.
