Hey Bob Dylan is OK with Christianity, what do some of you guys have against it? Guess you're saying Bob Dylan is a loser? One of Jeff's bandmates at one point, keep in mind. Jim I have nothing against it, just like I have nothing against people who put ketchup on everything. Just don't expect me to do it, too. You already started the conversation with your profile picture. To which I answer, The Big Bang Theory was provided by a Catholic priest, who was a full believer in God, and millions and millions of Christians believe in evolution. So, no more hiding, try again, as you're coming face to face with The Savior you seem to be apprehensive towards, for some reason. Jim

Jsst in general for this response, not lasering in at 88keys, specifically, ...
I'll take the removal of 88keys picture, and the lack of response, as I won the point. There is no religion with better respect for science than The Catholic Church.
Sometimes some fundamentalist non-Catholic Christians scare people away by insisting that the first stories of The Bible are actual literal history, rather than divinely-inpired parables that teach about God, and they'll insist that the earth can only be 6000 years, etc.
But, the only ones with the authority over The Bible is The Catholic Church since she is the one who canonized it and was entrusted with it, and she never contradicts science or history. Well what about Galileo? OK, one isoloated incident 500 years ago? Please.
Well, so now that science is not a lazy excuse for people to not embrace The Son of God anymore, what's the next bizarre attempt? "Well what about all the wars in the name of religion?" Well what about all the wars prevented because of religion, which were way more than were started in the name of religion? So there we go, another, outside-the-dorm-room-lazy-pot-suckin'- lame-brain argument blown to shreds, so don't even waste your breath. Not to mention a lot of wars can just be using religion as the excuse, and it's not really religion itself that's the problem. But that is SUCH common sense, that it is astounding that people would even go there.
"Well what about all the hypocrites that go to church, man?" Come and join us, we can use another one. That's like saying, "I don't know about all those hospitals, there are too many sick people in them." That's right, people who go to church know that they are hypocrites and in need of grace for forgiveness, and the grace to stop sinning. It's called humility, the very first thing anyone needs if they want to get anywhwere with truth and God, etc.
So all you guys on the sidelines waiting to say that stuff can put down your joints, pick up your Bibles, join an RCIA class, get initiated into The Catholic Church once that course is complete, and strive to live a holy and sacramental life from there.
The hippie rock and roll culture of dope-sucking, pre-marital sex, etc. is done, and over. It is a miserable failure that does not stand the test of logic or time. Now, time to grow up.
I like the first chapter of GWB's book decision points. At age 40, he decided no more alcohol and fully embraced Christianity, etc. Maybe someday I will get him to be a Catholic, but, hey he grew up and moved in the right direction.
And no, don't waste any time with pride in response, that's the root of all sins, pride. "Well I WANT to do what I WANT to do anyways, and I'm just going to do it." That's kid stuff, nail it to the cross and let it go.
Jim

A beagle puppy, at that! The cutest of all puppies, in my opinion. Can we debate that? 88keys: having in mind an avatar is supposed to represent you in a certain way, what would be interesting to know is what characteristics do you have in common with that puppy, and in which others you are definitely different.

My ears are kind of big, mainly due to genetics. My nose is sometimes wet, usually after furrowing for worms in wet grass. I do have big brown eyes, but not as beautiful as the puppy! I've never barked, though I have growled, especially during sex. I think that covers it!

Well, in order to process that last piece of information you gave it would be crucial to know if you are a male or a female. Your profile doesn't feature the characteristic symbol that lets other users know your gender.

I defy you to find something cuter than this! Attachment DeletedI had a Pomeranian, as a kid, and it was the greatest dog ever! She wouldn't eat dog food, though, so we fed her table scraps and bologna...that dog loved bologna.

Bitch, please... Although in Chippa's favour I've got to admit that there's nothing cuter than one's pet.

'Not to derail the puppy appreciation, but:
Jrmugz,
The chances of you converting people to Catholicism or any other form of Christianity on an internet message board are quite low.
Some of us on this planet are capable of living our lives in a reasonable and responsible manner independent of the Word of God. This should be made plain by the very fact that humas lived for hundreds of thousands of years before any of the three major monotheisms existed. More than that, a small handful of us nonbelievers are vastly more "conservative" than any Christian alive today in some ways, to the point where people similar to yourself have and would continue to consider us uncaring, brutal and evil.
I personally don't agree with famous contemporary atheists such as Hitchens and Dawkins who have made the claim (or variations of it) that "religion poisons eveything". Religion could very well just manipulate and use what's already present in people to begin with. Some people are drawn to religion or a particular religion and are accepting of it, some people are drawn to spirituality but not to organized religion, while others have no personal use for any transcendental thought, etc.
I guess the whole point I'm trying to make (as a sleep deprived zombie) is that you have to take into account huge varieties of personality, background, levles of intelligence and temperment when proselytising. Religion isn't for everyone and could never be for everyone.

88keys,
As was hinted at by Herr Helmut: the louder you women roar, the softer and weaker your voices sound to some of us actual biological males.
