Thoughts? Intimate Vs 50,000? Album Tracks and Zoom tracks Vs Hits?
I love the Zoom Concert, I really thought it would be Jeff's last as he made his feeling on playing live/touring very clear.... I thought the stage and lighting for Hyde Park was fantastic... If I'd have been to both concerts and then had to wipe one of them out of my mind.... I feel a poll coming along...

Well, it has to be hard to beat Hyde Park. Has just watched the whole thing on Youtube. My only, only little minuscule complaint is that the songs sounded almost too much like on the albums. I like a bit of variety when songs are played live.

I have to say I'm not all that familiar with the Zoom concert at the moment. I have it on DVD but I've been saving it up for an ELO emergency seeing as anything live by Jeff has been (until now) few and far between. The reason behind the Zoom concert was that it was a kind of consolation for the lack of a tour wasn't it? In that case Hyde Park wins for me - it was a triumphant return in contrast to the Zoom tour's disappointment. What made Hyde Park even more triumphant is that you could feel the joy just bursting both off the stage and from the audience

Zoom was an infinitely more polished affair and I would imagine that some parts would have been re shot just so it looked perfect-and that's why I like Hyde Park better, the rawness of the performance,no second chances, mistakes and all just make it a more satisfying watch. Zoom-7/10 Hyde Park 8/10

The Zoom Tour Live concert by a wide margin, even though it was good to see the Hyde Park performance. Cons:
- semi embarrassing opening number, IMO. They could have ignored Xanadu completely and chose tracks from Time and Balance of Power or more from Secret Messages.
- some of the visuals, like the overused big and bright modern CGI versions of the jukebox and saucer.
- it seemed as though the first half of the concert was cluttered with lyrical mistakes by Mr. Lynne.
- the renditions of songs like "Livin' Thing" and "Turn to Stone", sounded eerily like the recent Mr. Blue Sky versions.
Pros:
- it was nice to see Lynne's ELO headline and play in front of so many people in 2014.
- most of the people on stage seemed to be in pretty good spirits and the energy from the crowd was obviously very positive.
- renditions of numbers such as "10538 Overture", "Can't Get It Out of My Head" and "Don't Bring Me Down" sounded pretty close to the originals at times.

All over the world was a genius marketing ploy as it was featured on "Paul" a couple of years ago and was a hit movie, the musicians where as tight as a nuns knickers. He also made sure to connect immediately with the radio listening crowd (BBC2) and the Internet listeners. Visually what exactly did you expect? It's E.L.O? !! the semi circular rings on eitherside onf the stage and ultra bright colour backdrop where in an attempt to recreat the Wembley OOTB '78 TOUR to creat nostalgic response. (And I thought personally it was an upgrade in fairnes) even during (rrik) there was an attempt to recreat the orig laser ELO graphic. Calling America was just about a hit so it would never have been covered. It was an Elo gig girls and boys for yhe the masses....maybe if a world tour is confirmed we may hear all the other (naughty bits) but until then just love what you got!....as I retire to bed recreating "steppin out" in my head!!

Hyde Park....by a mile and more....maybe cos i was there....for a 'one off' with no practice in front of a crowd, a guy not having performed in front of a crowd for years and obviously nervous of the whole thing it was great....mistakes, ive made a few, but then again....so what...the huge advantage of a tv programme, recorded over two nights, is that you can stop or repeat things the second night and the 'small' crowd watching wont make much of a difference... semi embarrassing opening number...couldnt agree less....ive always liked the track anyway....it was great on the night, being there....and he hit the notes.... other tracks not chosen....ive already criticised this and will do so again....so what, he didnt choose your personal favourite track and he picked on a few tracks that you didnt like or dont like so much (there are tracks i would have loved to see and hear live the other night, but hey, he was there...so was i...any morsels thrown from the top table are good enough for me)...get over it...give the bloke a break cos its actually looking like a tour could be on the way....im sure that will be potentially different where he knows it will be pure elo fans and not just a 'best of' performance....(on the other hand of course it may be the same knowing that people, not strictly elo fans, may buy tickets to see 'the best of' elo played live....lol)...who knows...and who cares...if i get a second shot at seeing him live i will go for it....he will play elo and thats good enough for me.... livin thing, mr blue sky.....perhaps they were....maybe they werent...they were live and maybe Jeff kept any changes he has made...i just heard and saw it as a live performance and thought they sounded great.... me...im just glad i was there...

Ah man it was unbelievable! I have played everything from "looking on, message from the country, E.L.O '71-86/01 and finished up on delish new Longwave vinyl today!!! I still can't believe it! Me wife is going nuts! "HOLDIN ON TIGHT TO MY DREAM"!!! Hyde Park all the way! I love zoom but the priority was Jeff having fun and guaranteeing more E.L.O. gigs and my fellow Lynnites I think that has been achieved! Didje all hear the crowd break into song with A.o.t.w? Finally Jeffs genius was recognised, he was blown away, I was blown away and it made up for the years of abuse from my fellow Rock fan mates.... Soooo! Hyde pk wins by a mile!

From my point of view, Zoom was better. Probably no one here would agree with me, but let me explain why I prefer it. First of all, Jeff is getting older, and his voice obviously can't be as good as 13 years ago. If you watch the Zoom show, you will notice how Jeff was on fire, and his voice was probably at its best. At the Hyde Park he wasn't able to sing high notes, he made some little mistakes too, and (Gotta be honest) the whole show is quite "Weak" compared to the other. But hey, this is only my opinion

Rosie Vela kinda ruined the "Zoom" shows, for me. Although, I think the "VH1 Storyellers" version was better than the one taped at CBS studios.
