Rosie Vela kinda ruined the "Zoom" shows, for me. Although, I think the "VH1 Storyellers" version was better than the one taped at CBS studios. Really? I actually thought Vela's vocals and presence added quite a bit to the performances. Do you think she attracted too much attention to herself at the expense of the others?

It felt like: The Jeff and Rosie show coming to you live at a venue near you! She is a big distraction. I know they were a couple at that time, but... makes it hard to watch.
Do I like Zoom over Hyde Park? Apples to oranges.

No one would agree with you? Where were you when I was the sole person voicing a preference for the Zoom concerts? Sorry I missed your post pal

This is my angle too - I know neither has the original band but Hyde Park is as near to a proper ELO gig as it's possible to have these days and the sheer joy of it just shines out. Plus the video backdrop kicks Zoom's arse. Zoom (the gig and the album) struck me as much more of a solo project however it was packaged - it's a great album but to me it was never a bona fide ELO production, more like the sequel to Armchair Theatre. And Rosie Vela irritated me up there stage front, I know she was only keeping him occupied till he meets me one day, but I don't need her shoved in my face looking pretty and having it all #grumpy

Us blokes need some eye candy as well, I did get the impression she thought it was the Rosie Vela show and she didn't seem to fit in with the rest of band.
The totty in the Hyde Park gig where very much part of the band and didn't try to steal the show.

Totty in its proper place is a good thing - ie Jeff up front for us and the rest on the sidelines. And I don't expect Jeff was distracted at all by that minx in leopard print with the violin, he probably thought it was Mik all along

After all, he was screwing up lyrics left and right before she even strolled out.

Would you say the violin player was the most attractive person to ever share the stage with ELO?

Could be a idea for a new poll, the hottest ELO totty An older friend of mine seemed to get the hots for the Hyde Park backing singer Just remembered ONJ does she count?

That's your call if there is a poll on the way. I'd rank Ms. Chereene Allen as number 1 if pressed... and squeezed like an orange.
