Timeblue I didn't care at all for it either, until I saw/heard the tribute band A New World Record perform it live two years ago in Virginia Beach! It was such a fun, joyful surprise, and I've loved it ever since!!

Jungle is very much a Jeff Lynne song - and definitely a Jeff Lynne production. It's got his humour and quirky special effects going right through it. That humour has always been with him - from the start of On With The Show to the last bit of End Of The Road - the two tracks that top and tail side 2 of The Birthday Party. Daft, but brilliant!

I myself love Jungle. Not every song has to be super serious to be good, and it’s got such an intriguing sound instrumentally.

I'm a Jungle fan, I think Jeff really enjoyed himself making it and the puppet video is total genius. Especially when all the animals sing the chorus

Beautiful.
I’m loving the more prominent brass parts and some of the string parts that I’d never noticed before, especially the cello at “staring as she called my name” and “morning don’t get here tonight”.

Beautiful. I’m loving the more prominent brass I've always loved the more prominent bras... smileys-whistling-823718 Seriously, what a beautiful version of a personal favourite (I think it's out of the hits the song I like most). Hearing it without Jeff's voice makes you appreciate the strings better and, even if the differences are not huge, they help you rediscover the beauty of the song. And even though the brass sound interesting for an alternate version, I can totally see why Jeff chose to go without them for the original version, and I think he made the right choice.

I blame it on me being one of those ‘arrogant’ trumpet players.
