Thanks Helmut, having been though lots of promotions and relegations i tend to accept them these days as part of the fabric of supporting a yo-yo club. it isn't the relegation although it kind of just underlines what a difficult season it has been. We weren't good enough full stop but there lots of factors. Money spent on players who can compete, luck, decisions, massive injuries to key players, obviously the loss of the star signing before even even kicked a ball in such tragic circumstances. It has all been building up. Our manager (who most people either love or hate) has called it his best and worst season.
Having witnessed it at first hand it feels like the media and authorities are driving the EPL into top 6 and some also rans (very much by the big teams owners/upper echelons ) ... I assume for the fabled european league ... it will eventually kill international football, in the same way it is killing the uk game.
As for being the big boys, no we actually spent less than some of the clubs in the division below us this year. We now have a huge rebuild to do so suspect mid table next year, which will be fine ... at least we can see some games that aren't just attack against defence.
the kids were sad but not heartbroken like 3 or 4 years ago when we last were relegated.

Cardiff City Relegated ... not a season I have enjoyed. It's been a tough year dillwyn. I think a lot of people would've hoped that Cardiff would manage to stay up, especially after what happened... It's an uncompromising league, though.

So who are you supporting then! Neither of them. But I really enjoyed watching those incredible matches.

I was passionately rooting for Barcelona to lose (as always), so I was happy about the Liverpool comeback.
As for Tottenham and Ajax, I like both of them, but I had a slight preference for Ajax because they managed to put up a great team with a budget that's tiny compared to that of the other teams (even Tottenham) so I thought they deserved to be in the final. The was they lost was heartbreaking, but they've got only themselves to blame.
Who will win the big final?

Yeah, it looks like Liverpool is the big candidate. But then again, the odds were against Spurs both in quarterfinals against Manchester City and in semis agains Ajax and they somehow found away to win the series (both times with a bit of luck I must say). Horacewimp, I was sorry to see Leeds got knocked out of the promotion playoffs. A pity, they had a 2 goal advantage at one point. Will Bielsa continue next season? Also, dillwyn: at least Cardiff went down beating Man U 2-0 at Old Trafford.

It was a disappointing end to the season, I really thought this was our year. I just hope Aston Villa don’t get promoted. I hope Bielsa stays he apparently is having talks with the powers that be.
