number 10 ?! Ok. I have questions! What is the criteria? Width? Height? Diameter? Overall aesthetics and shape? Where is Brian May? Is his too long to be a fro? I need some transparency here. They can't just go around making declarations like this without explaining the process!

Some 'fro-tastic pics there, but they'd best keep their distance if the flamethrower's coming out....

Heard Evil Woman on my drive to school this morning. Is it just me, or is ELO getting more radio play time recently?

Jeff's social media took this down and put it back up a day later... inexplicably.

Listening to the Popmaster quiz on Radio 2 as I write...
First question today: "The double A-side Ticket To The Moon and Here Is The News was a hit in 1982 for which group?"
The contestant got the answer right, referring rather formally to "The Electric Light Orchestra", rather than "ELO". Raised my mug of tea to him, at home.

Heh! They've just had another mention!
Questionmaster Ken asked: "Which band sang about a New Kid In Town?"
The hapless contestant guessed: "ELO?" Dear me. Maybe he was thinking of A New World Record.

They've done it! It's a hat-trick!
Now the quiz has finished, Ken's playing Sweet Talkin' Woman.
Maybe a tribute to female MPs, as it's election day here in the UK?

I heard "Evil Woman" on the radio on the way in to work yesterday. On a separate and shocking note: My mother told a visiting friend recently that she really likes "Four Little Diamonds!"--the result of playing ELO in the car on our road trips and little excursions around town. We've come a long way since those days in the late 1970s when she complained about the operatic solo sections of "Rockaria" emanating from my room, saying that it sounded like "a woman stuck under a fence crying out to be freed." (I guess she didn't like it? )

Last time I was in Gibraltar I wore my ELO hoodie, the one bar we went to the waiter said great band, have you seen them live. After I finished listing all the concerts I think he thought “I wish I hadn’t asked” he did say he wanted to see Jeff live and would take along his Dad as he was also a big fan.

Horace, That reminds me of a commercial that runs in the US, where a woman asks the UPS worker if they "do more than ship" and as he launches into his list of extra things ... her child's hair keeps growing and growing and the dazed look on the kid's face goes from puzzled to bored to zombified. I've seen that look when I launch into yet another "reminds me of when ELO ..." story. But hey, it's impossible to keep the ELO enthusiasm bottled up.
