I've been enjoying watching The Orville, and I've heard Seth McFarland is an ELO fan. On this week's episode, the artificial intelligence character, Isaac, betrays his race and saves humanity. Dr. Finn says this to him afterward. Attachment Deleted

Dr. Finn says this to him afterward. I noticed that, too! I didn't realize that MacFarlane was a fan though, I just figured that it was a coincidence. I heard both Don't Bring Me Down and Evil Woman in the grocery store today, it looks like they are kicking it up a notch.

Casey Kasem's American Top 40 - The 80's from March 1st, 1986, is on KOLA 99.9 this weekend, #40, leading off is the English band who in The 1970's called themselves The Electric Light Orchestra, in the early 80's they shortened it to initials only, ELO, but now they're back to their full name, here's Electric Light Orchestra, coming in at #40 with, Calling America...

sadly, Calling America was the last ELO song to chart in America
any chance Jeff will come up with a hit on his work in progress? that would be a pleasant surprise

My wife and I watched an oldish movie (2007) called "Martian Child" tonight. Twice I recognized songs within the first 2 notes. Satellite by Guster and then Mr Blue Sky. They also had a Cat Stevens song. So 2 thumbs up for whomever was in charge of the music.

PBS is using the concert at Hyde Park as a fund raiser. Send money and get the DVD. Send more money and get some CDs. Send even more ...
I've already got just about everything ELO there is.
but I'm unexpectedly getting to watch Richard play Don't Bring Me Down. So maybe I'll send 'em a few bucks.

Listening to Alice Cooper's show on Planet Rock last night and up came Ace Frehely's 1989 cover of "Do Ya". Not bad, for a cover.

Whilst the rain was belting it down outside, customers in a busy ASDA in Weston-super-Mare were treated to an impromptu 'jig' and small recital of lyrics as Mr Blue Sky played over the PA system his afternoon. 'You had to hide away for so long ' came out as we drifted down the pet food isle, the misses reaction was, 'I'm not with you'.

I unfortunately was not in the car to hear it, but one of my friends knows how obsessed with ELO I am (this is of course no secret) and told me he heard Don’t Bring Me Down on the radio on the way to school.
