Doesn't that very last date overlap with most of Jeff's core band being in concert backing Take That? Either he's planning something in his own backyard that features an orchestra, some old friends or perhaps both. Also, I wouldn't be at all surprised if he announced one last album called Over And Out around his usual October/November release window to coincide with a European tour leg, perhaps leading up to something very special in Birmingham. (Isn't next year technically the 60th anniversary of when both The Move and The Idle Race formed?) Anyway, I can already imagine the closing title track ending with a Morse code message that fades into the depths of space: 10538 10538 10... See my post from earlier regarding Take That

I suspect they haven’t released the U.K. dates yet on my behalf. They know I’m working this week and so I would find it hard to get tickets on any prerelease as I’m away from a computer. Most considerate, thanks Jeff.

I hope Jeff has a personal trainer, nutritionist and yoga guru lined up. He'll need to be in great shape to get through 27 concert dates in a 2 month span.

I feel like "One More Time" would be an extremely appropriate addition to the set list, fingers crossed? I had the same thought BIuebird. This mix (with extra strings) is from Lou Clark, Jr. and would make a great opener for the farewell tour.

See my post from earlier regarding Take That Yep, you are correct. I saw Take That in Lucca in 2019 with none of the usual Mike Stevens band. I suspect as Mike has become more successful he's got access to a bigger group of session musicians.

Is this the first time we’ve had a Jeff Lynne/ELO announcement that hasn’t simultaneously come from the Showdown list?
Which asks the question, is it still active?

I'm holding off on this until I see whether there is a new album that is a significant departure from the last two (meaning, not just a Jeff Lynne solo album wrapped in the JLELO name). The dates are five months off, and while I'm not wishing Jeff illness, at his age anything could happen, medically speaking.
I'm already holding $500 in Aerosmith tickets from last year, and maybe later this year they will tour if Tyler's vocal cords are healed. The tour is merely postponed, so they are under no obligation to refund our money (only if it is cancelled). So I'm very leery about most legacy acts at their age (except the Stones, for which I have tickets for their Houston show on April 28th.
I'll be keeping an eye out on the JLELO tour news as well as a new album.
I really wish Jeff would take this iteration to Australia. They've been waiting since 1978!

Pretty sure the final gig(s) will be Birmingham. I'm going to attempt to get tickets for at least one of the nights

I'm holding off any potential UK shows until I know the set list as the last two tours have been virtually identical. You would think (or hope) that this being his last tour, he might pull some crackers out of the bag? Good point made about Australia too.

If it IS to be Jeff's last tour, how about if he performs all those hits that have never been sung live, such as Diary Of Horacewimp, I'm Alive, Don't Walk Away etc etc?

Mick Jagger is in excellent shape for his age, and has all those things. In a recent guitar magazine interview, Steve Miller said that he works out (weights, cardio, guitar practicing, etc.) for 3 hours before each gig.

I have mixed feelings about the tour. My first thought was I hope they take good care of him because he seems a bit frail and 27 shows in 63 days is a bit much. After seeing how he was at the show with Joe Walsh I hoped he wouldn't tour again. I just know if we don't go see him I will regret it the rest of my life.

I hope he has good people around him who aren't afraid to speak up should an issue arise. Too many artist have been drained for every dime with zero concern for their well being. Not saying this is the case but we all know it happens.

And one that hasn't been played since 1981-1982 & 1986, ELO's last Top 10, "Hold on Tight". PS-I also hope there's a studio album announced sooner rather than later that'll be the namesake of this tour as Over and Out!
