If Paul McCartney can play Australia, why can't Jeff Lynne's ELO?
ELO last played Australia (the only time) in the Spring of 1978. Nothing since.
I feel bad for those regions on the planet who haven't seen ELO live since the 1970s, or those who at least saw ELO Part II / The Orchestra in the last 35 years (Eastern Europe, South America, etc.) but never Jeff Lynne's ELO.

Jeff's reluctance to play anywhere except the same type of venues across America, the UK and continental Europe since the Time Tour has been an immense source of frustration, which makes ELO Part II and later The Orchestra venturing further afield to help keep the lights on a lot more appreciated. I dare to imagine how many further record sales they can claim responsibility for just by remembering that the original music succeeded in reaching All Over The World.

Jeff's done touring, lets move on.
As for ELOP2FormerMembers, the only one left with any connection to ELO is Mik Kaminski. They're just a tribute band at this point. That's not a dig, cause I've enjoyed some their original material.

I meant that Jeff couldn't and cannot be arsed to travel to places like Australia so Part2 enabled fans in those places to hear the sound of ELO. This suited Jeff having not to travel and he got a cut of the royalties too...

Their constant need to be on the road (often to the detriment of their health) is a sign that they're hardly making that much from the whole venture, and if you tally up their setlists, an agreement is in place so that 75% of what they play has to be written by Jeff.

That's what I mean, they HAVE to play Jeff's songs. So for Jeff it really is 'Easy Money'...

The only issue I have is when acts are promoted as the real thing and not as a tribute band which is what they are. I don't think people in some corners of the world know the difference.

if it makes you feel better, I will be in Australia in February 2024. Melbourne
