Tina Turner was a genuine star who really deserved all the accolades awarded to her. My abiding impression of her, besides being an awesome and original artist, is the way she shook off the overwhelming weight of Ike Turner and showed everyone she was bigger and better than he'd ever been. Seems she had a lot to deal with, health wise, in the last few years too so at least now she is free of all that.
RIP Tina, there will never be anyone else quite like you
