Listening to Brummie DJ Les Ross's show on Boom Radio today when he read out an email from a fan asking him if he'd ever made a record himself.
Les revealed that, together with other people, he'd sung backing vocals on this Roy Wood cover of a blue-eyed soul classic.
I hadn't even known Roy'd covered the song, so I just had to find it. Two legendary Brummies for the price of one.

So was Les a singer in the 70s?

As Horace says, Timeblue, Les has never been a professional singer. But he must have met a lot of musicians in his career as a DJ. Perhaps he was just in the right place at the right time when Woody rounded up some backing singers.
