I heard the news while getting ready for school. Such a tragedy, I thought. 'Starting Over' was getting so much air play.

Me too, my father who went to work that morning before I got up had left a note telling what had happened and he didn't like that type of music. So to do that, it must have have been a monumental moment in time.

Timeblue, when I first read that, I thought your father had left you the note specifically to express his disapproval of John's music! A shocking day, though. I remember hearing the news on Radio 1 just after I woke up (radio lived beside my bed in those days).

Timeblue , when I first read that, I thought your father had left you the note specifically to express his disapproval of John's music! A shocking day, though. I remember hearing the news on Radio 1 just after I woke up (radio lived beside my bed in those days). Haha, it was the way I wrote it I guess. My father was of the old school so Sinatra,Crosby etc were his choice not some group of long haired lads from Liverpool like The Beatles...
