Secret Messages won the best track on the album Secret Messages.
The next album is Balance of Power, we start with side one, vote above for the best track.

The late Terry Wogan was a big fan of our mob. I was introduced to Tightrope on his morning programme. One song he played regularly was GTTP. I love BOP. Any of the first three would do. But, Sir Terry made the 'point' for me

It was going to be GTTP but at the last minute I plumped for SL, always had a liking for that song.

It has taken many, many plays for me to appreciate this album. Anywho. I don't think any song on this side outshines the other, really. All good solid pop tunes. So it's Heaven Only Knows.

Heaven Only Knows. Back in the days before leaks on the internet and saturated marketing, there was nothing quite like playing the first track on a brand new ELO album for the very first time!

So Serious. Love the shimmering production and the twangy Duane Eddy style guitar.

Exactly this. All the tracks on side one are equally good for me though, except maybe Secret Lives but even that outshines a lot of what passes for pop music these days *grumbles*

Probably in the general musical context of 1986 this wasn't one of the best albums, but compare it to pretty much all of today's pop music and it puts it to shame. My vote goes for "Tan serio".
