Gosh yes, it's stupendous, and yes somewhat more animated than the real thing, nice find Timeblue I wonder if we could book him for this year's forum Christmas Party?

I'm not saying I'd rather watch a Puppet Jeff concert more than a real Jeff concert but it's a very good substitute.
I can't think of a nice way of saying it but the puppet is a lot more lively than real Jeff - not saying real Jeff is entirely static but you don't often see a puppet with more life than the real person (I'm not criticizing real Jeff!!)

Haha, that was my original point! Jeff is no Jagger....

Haha, that was my original point! Jeff is no Jagger.... Thank God he's no Jagger! Jeff was a little more "lively" in his younger days but weren't we all? I will say I've never seen anyone command attention by just being himself the way Jeff does. In '78 with the dancing cello's and even today with all the great players and eye candy all eye's are mostly on the Great One!

There's nothing more dull than someone like Chris Martin flouncing pointlessly around the stage or somebody else standing stock still with no personality. If you're going to move around you have to have a purpose (Freddie Mercury) and if you are going to stay still you need to have Jeff's magnetism. If you can do neither you have no business being on stage anyway.

The paradox is that a puppet, for being fun, has to move; but Jeff Lynne doesn't move. So the more he moves, the better it is as a puppet, but the less he resembles Jeff.

I wasn't expecting this thread to turn so deep and philosophical. I like it. Anyone can make philosophy out of matters which are deep per se, like our existence, religion or ethics. The true art lies in making deep philosophy out of things as mundane as a Jeff Lynne puppett, the Muppets or the fact that Goofy walks in it's two feet, dresses up and talks and Pluto doesn't when the two of them are dogs.
