This year it's in Vlogs back yard, North Wales! It's a place that I've visited too, back in the early 70's my family went to Rhyl for our holidays and one year we went to Abergele on a day out (where the castle is) The castle held jousting tournaments and other mediaeval attractions, I can vividly remember seeing knights in armour walking around and for a kid of 8 or 9 that was pretty cool...

I looked up the castle when the series began, it’s hardly a proper Welsh castle as it was built some 200 years ago, Conway, Harlech, Caernarfon are all over 700 years old.

Apparently there was a house that dated from the mediaeval period on the site and the owners built the castle around it so part of it dates back to those times. I would imagine that it's more of a 'folly' than a castle. (I remember going to Conwy Castle too, now that is a proper castle)
