John Sessions died earlier this month at the age of 67 –
While he didn’t achieve the fame of his friends Stephen Fry and Kenneth Branagh, John always seemed to be in every movie, radio programme or TV show there was from Gangs of New York and Jackanory to QI and Die Fledermaus. He deserved to be more successful than he was but at least he got to act alongside Al Pacino, Jeff Goldblum, Mel Gibson and Meryl Streep (twice) as well as Robbie Coltrane, David Jason, Carrie Fisher and Pudsey the dog.
The last TV programme I saw John in was We're Doomed! The Dad's Army Story where he played a very convincing Arthur Lowe but he is mostly known for being one of the voices of Spitting Image (he was the only person to provide impressions and be featured as a puppet on the show).
He appeared in the first three series of Whose Line Is It Anyway -
And was one of David Brent's comedy geniuses -
Here's John's Alan Rickman impression -

Such sad news, he wasn't much in the public eye recently but he had an effortless talent for being spontaneously funny. His Alan Rickman is brilliant too, don't think I've seen anyone else even attempt it. I liked him best in Stella Street, playing loads of famous people supposedly living on a suburban road - his Keith Richard is spot on and I believe highly praised by the man himself. R.I.P. John

I heard that Alan Rickman's diaries are going to be published in 2022. Somebody online mentioned that it was a shame Alan isn't here to record the audiobook and now that John Sessions is gone nobody will be able to replicate his voice.
