On our way home from dinner we spotted the Oscar Mayer Wiener car parked in a lot two blocks from our house. Rumors of this mighty dog have been bantered about for years through the US. We weaved back through the streets of our neighborhood, back to history in the making. I went on it's site and found that it's here for a Holiday Craft Show in a small town south of Toledo.
From the Wiener official site: 1969 Ford Thunderbird taillights, Chevy motor home frame. They put a dummy in the seat.
She's a clean machine.

I think I remember reading that they hire college kids to drive those around and be the Oscar Mayer ambassadors
Are either of their famous jingles known in the U.K.? One goes “My baloney has a first name, it’s O-S-C-A-R ...” The other starts off “Oh I wish I were an Oscar Mayer wiener ...”

It looks great, reminds me of the Cadbury’s Creme Egg car. Not heard any of the jingles in the U.K. in fact Oscar Mayer aren’t well known over here, I think I might have seen them at Costco.

I just saw an announcement on a local entertainment newsletter that the Weinermobile was also in our area on Thursday and Friday!! I missed it, but what a coincidence! The announcement said that there are 6 such cars that drive around the country at any given time, and they also mentioned that they are hiring drivers... Maybe in pre-pandemic times, this would not be news, but any little bit of news about safe, positive amusement is appreciated these days!

Yup, that's me Timeblue. It wasn't there this AM. It's probably like driving a bus.
