eloneen, you should have said it (the full phrase, including "and just as I turn around")! And not just that: you should have sung it! Just like in musicals, when they are in the middle of an ordinary discussion in an ordinary situation and suddenly one of them starts singing and all of the others then join in, knowing the song by telepathy apparently. Maybe if you had sung that, the electrician would have answered -singing, of course- "I believe things are going wrong". I hope he would have been discreet enough to stop before the "I love you baby" part.

I hope he would have been discreet enough to stop before the "I love you baby" part. lol That would have been funny!! My office mate for the week was a male music teacher, and he seemed a bit puzzled when I mentioned later on that I was a big ELO fan. Because I was talking to someone else, too, who actually knew about ELO and was teasing me about it, I did not take the time to find out why the other guy seemed puzzled-- probably a little too young to know them from his youth and not familiar with them. In any case, the person who came to check on the lights was not an electrician, but the new young woman on staff who deals with site-related issues for our project. She decided to call the electrician after all, since she couldn't figure it out, even with the manual. I doubt that she would have boldly declared her love for either me or my office mate, though... We're both much older and married, and she probably has better options anyway! lol

Didn't have the nerve to ask if they sold anything with four little diamonds.

New York City is experiencing a blackout this evening, 42 years to the date of the infamous 1977 blackout. I hope everyone there is able to stay safe and as comfortable as is possible under these conditions on this warm summer night. If I remember correctly, there is a bit of ELO trivia connected with the 1977 blackout. I think I recall reading something about a NYC radio station and some connection to ELO when they went off the air that day....Can anyone help me with this? Or am I confused about some part of this?

While out shopping, I made this "Discovery" - surely the solution to Lorenzo Llama's romantic problems? All he has to do is follow the instructions and he'll have the partner of his dreams, who will gaze at him demurely and never question his grandiose self-importance.

There's a problem. It might be to old for Lorenzo to play with. It reads that appropriate starting age is 8.
