May have already been mentioned on here, apologies if so. I learned a new fact today, it takes approx 8 mins 20secs for light from the sun to reach the Earth.
What's the duration of the masterpiece on ELO II......8mins 20 secs

a gem from their prog rock days, at first it was just "Boogie #1" as Jeff hadn't thought up a title, yet which makes me think the space theme for Time was rolling around in his head from an early age, took almost a decade to go from ELO's formation to the fully formed concept album

The listing I have on ITunes says 8:18 so I suppose like the distance From the Sun to the World, the Time it takes to enjoy the song changes as well.

perhaps he wrote it in the darkest depths of birmingham, which would account for the extra 3 seconds it takes the light to reach it....

'FTSTTW' is an excellent track. I don't listen to it a lot but when I do I'm always impressed by the classical piano at the start. This is why Richard is a star. He doesn't get many chances to prove all that he is capable of but on a few ELO songs he is the standout artist. I wish ELO would do this on their forthcoming tour - it would welcome RT back nicely. Either this or 'Daybreaker' or even 'Nobody's Child'.
