I seriously love Jeff's vocals on TIME. Emotional, passionate, witty!! So good! I think they are his strongest vocal performances. To me his vocals on The Lights Go Down are the best ever.
Question though, does anyone else think all of Jeff's vocals on TIME have been sped up a bit?

I don't know if sped up, but his vocals are very good here. He used to sing 'screaming' on the first 3 albums, but that changed over the years. Ticket to the Moon has one of his best vocals, and that canon! That one and the last one from Epilogue remind me of God Only Knows. He sounds a bit like Lennon in 'When Time Stood Still'. I like to think that today's Jeff sings like the one from Time.

Twilight Light sounds a bit fast.

I agree that Time has Jeff's best singing, especially the aforementioned Ticket to the Moon, and my personal favorite, Rain is Falling, which to me seems to be a departure from the overall sound of Time. It was the one song on the album that you had to say "is this ELO?"

I've noticed in some parts Jeff's voice -which is pretty much like a chameleon in terms of how it changes and disguises itself as if it were from other artists- acquires a modern pop high-pitched tone, like for example in "From the end of the world", that part that says "I saw you last night but you couldn't answer (etc.)...". That's not a tone of voice that Jeff would have used in previous albums.

Most sound the same no matter what they sing.

Most sound the same no matter what they sing. Exactly. And let me take it further: it's his songwriting what can adapt to very different styles, and his voice adapts following his songwriting. That's why ELO sounds like so many different bands when it's just the same guy songwriting and singing. Others are credited as having a "trademark style" as if it were a good thing, when the truth is that they sound the same in all of their songs.
