I thought that Richard deserved his own thread. LOL...Here is video of Richard in 2001 playing Don't Bring me Down and Roll Over Beethoven, at 2 minutes 57 seconds in for DBMD and for ROB, at 6 min. 24 sec. and again at 7 min. 44.
This next video shows Richard playing DBMD in 2016 but his solo is not as good. Maybe you can hear the difference. It starts at 2 min. 53 sec.
Here is Richard playing ROB and he almost looks like he's in pain as he finishes his one solo which starts 2 min. and 25 into in.
Perhaps he has developed arthritis in his hands.

My piano teacher developed arthritis when she was around Richard's age. It devastated her, and she was never really the same. I hope Richard is ok.

If he doesn't show, who's gonna do the "Please turn me over" bit now? Seriously, I think if Richard doesn't appear on this series of shows Jeff's team should make a previous public statement to let the fans know the reasons of his absence (or, if he fell apart from Jeff, invent an acceptable excuse) as many of them are expecting to see him on the keyboards. My feelings exactly. On another thread, Jackpunch said that if Richard is missing then it will be The Mike Stephens Band playing with Jeff on vocals, that sums it up exactly.....

Just guessing, but perhaps it's Richard's choice to not make any statements? Maybe he likes to keep it low key; while hoping he will still be able to return to the band.

Judging by the posts on JL's facebook, some sort of announcement was made about RT's health at the June 21st Sheffield Arena performance. Did anyone attend? Anything to add?

According to Shsrdender via Steve Hoffman Forum...sounds like it could be surgery for arthritis.

According to Shsrdender via Steve Hoffman Forum...sounds like it could be surgery for arthritis. That would be relieving to know - it sucks for Richard 'cause he needs his hands, right? But it could be a whole lot worse.

I was informed that Richard may have undergone surgery on his hands - possibly his wrists - earlier this year, and that arthritis or carpal tunnel syndrome was the most likely cause for his recent visible deterioration. However, we're still no closer to an official statement, though it was claimed he's suffered with something for quite a while. At the very least, this would explain why his dexterity seems a little off, not to mention others in the group taking on more of his old keyboard parts lately. Whatever the case, I really do hope that he'll return soon, as the vocoder lines just don't sound the same with anyone else handling these!
