His driver sometimes gets irritated when someone comes tell her that Delpo did this or that, so I didn't comment the victory with her. Maybe we'll need to set him an ambush on a lift before the next match so he wins again. Thanks for the explanation of why the British call him Del Boy, it didn't make sense to me but now I see. "A new world record!"...

On another note, the relationship between the Brazilian and the Argentine public has gone from sports rivalry to plain hostility. It all started at the football WC 2014 and, to be honest, Argies have a good share of blame with the arrogant behaviour they show off everywhere they go (particularly in Brazil). I don't know if you guys could notice, but during these Olympics, in every sport where Argentine teams or representatives compete, the locals loudly boo them and celebrate whenever their opponents win or score, no matter the country they are from. Argentines normally reply back by celebrating their achievements in the face of the Brazilian public or just by lifting 7 fingers (in reference to Brazil losing 7-1 to Germany during the WC). There's a serious animosity and I wouldn't be surprised if incidents take place.

That men's road race was a killer. Everyone seems to have thought Chris Froome was going to win just because he won the Tour. That's like assuming Tom Daly will win the 100m just because his sport involves water!
1. Tour de France stages normally do not last 8 hours 2. Rio was a cruel course 3. Froome has never won a one day race. 4. He didn't have as many team mates as on the Tour and each GB rider in Rio was riding for himself.
The time trial, now there's an event GB could win at. It was a good race, exciting at the end when two of them crashed out on the downhill section, fingers crossed for Lizzie Armitstead later today Did you watch the race? jeez, that crash on the downhill part near the end by the then leader...I honestly thought she was dead when I saw it, she was lying there in a heap motionless but it seems she is 'ok' ( only 3 small fractures to her spine, that's all....)

I did, it was horrendous she was lucky to just have those injuries. Those roads should not have been used as the gutters on the side were a death trap, an accident waiting to happen.

Everybody knows that the green water is in tribute to the green vinyl edition of Face the Music!
When Adam Peaty won the other night with "A New World Record" he wanted to colour the swimming pool red, however he was prevented by an over-zealous official. So, hearing about Adam's plight, Tom Daley slipped in some green dye to celebrate his bronze-winning "water-fall".
(All this is entirely fictional - or is it?)

So, a gold for Fabian "Spartacus" Cancellara and a bronze for Chris Froome in the time trial.
This is pretty much the result I expected. My heart was rooting for Froome to get gold but my head always said Cancellara because Fabian and time trials go together like ELO and 'Mr Blue Sky'. Froome got the same medal in 2012 so I'm happy with his result.
So pleased for Cancellara though, he deserves it, especially in his final season. Farewell Spartacus!

Team GB have just won in the Rugby Sevens! And who have they just beaten? Er, Argentina... That poor dragon. Torn in two... Tough defeat. Our guys were so close, but the kicker missed that penalty at the end that could have changed the story. Wales doesn't seem to have had a big participation in the British team that beat Argentina so I decided to spare Enfys' (that's how the dragon is called) life this time. Now, just wait until Wales kicks us out of a Rugby World Cup... I'm already sharpening the needle in case it happens. Great Britain seem to have been our executioners today, as you also beat our ladies in hockey 3-2. Two of our teams that had chances of getting a medal, beaten by the British.

Friday has been good to Team GB so far - two golds on the water and hopefully Sir Bradley and friends will give us another.

I am so haaappppyyyy!!!
Brad and Ed and the boys won us the gold in team pursuit! I feel almost as joyful as if I've been to an ELO concert.
That makes Bradley GB's most decorated Olympian. Good on him, he's the Jeff Lynne of the cycling world - a one off, down to earth guy who says what he likes not what he should.

Just watched brilliant tennis semi-final between Rafael Nadal and Argentina's finest, Mr Del Potro. Three hours it lasted. What a wonderful win for Del Boy. And who will he meet in the final tomorrow? Andy Murray of Team GB... (Enfys! Run and hide in a cave somewhere before Helmut83 can find that needle! Get Sanchez to open the window for you! Do it now!)

Yaaaaay!!!
Not to be outdone by the men, the ladies team pursuit team have also won gold!
That means Laura Trott has now won more golds than any other GB woman athlete.
It's fantastic to have a sport where women are just as successful as the men.
