Do they really have to wear such revealing costumes though? I didn't know where to look when Sir Bradley and team were being interviewed earlier

Just watched brilliant tennis semi-final between Rafael Nadal and Argentina's finest, Mr Del Potro. Three hours it lasted. What a wonderful win for Del Boy. And who will he meet in the final tomorrow? Andy Murray of Team GB... (Enfys! Run and hide in a cave somewhere before Helmut83 can find that needle! Get Sanchez to open the window for you! Do it now!) lol Nah, there will be no need. Delpo beat both Djokovic and Nadal, and Murray is not better than those two so he should beat him as well, although I'm a bit concerned about the fact that he might be tired after having played some long games (particularly the one he played today against Nadal). But Delpo's game, as epic as it was, wasn't the most heroic victory of the day for team Argentina. The basketball guys beat our archrivals Brazil in 2nd overtime in a game for the ages after two times in which all hope seemed lost. I think it was the most heartstopping basket game I ever saw. See that I'm not an isolated case in terms of height, but in Argentina we are all tall people? Delpo, the basketball guys, myself...

My first joyous Olympic memory was in the cycling, Chris Boardman's gold -
But it wasn't the win that I was interested in at nine years-old. Oh no. It was that weird aerodynamic helmet! I believe back then it was a very futuristic design.
What a fantastic men's floor final in the gymnastics!
A gold! And it's GB's first ever medal in that discipline I hear. I've never seen such an emotional medals ceremony, those two Brazilians! Both of them so happy and tearful and our Max in the middle looking very controlled.
It seems this year GB is doing so well in new things that we don't usually succeed at.

And gold in the golf, for Justin Rose!
This was especially pleasing for me, because three years ago, "out of the blue", I decided to place a bet on the US Open golf tournament. (One of my colleagues had led me astray by telling me how good the odds were.) My first ever bet on the golf, and I picked the winner - a certain Justin Rose!
Haven't had a bet since, I thought I'd quit while I was ahead. But I was delighted to see 'my' champion win gold today.
Now for the tennis. Andy versus Del Boy. Scot v Argie. Gonna be a showdown...

Another gold in pommel horse and a guaranteed gold in the cycling later, a good evening for Team GB.

What a way of getting medals Great Britain! They have like 70% more population than Argentina and exactly 35 times more medals.

I can't believe the weekend team GB's had .
We might not have had a Super Saturday to match 2012 but we certainly had a Super Sunday - Jason Kenny, Mo Farah, Justin Rose, Andy Murray, Max Whitlock AND Max Whitlock! That's five gold medals in 24 hours. That's two gymnastics medals within as many hours by the SAME PERSON!
I think a lot of people were expecting/hoping for repeat of 2012 for the GB team. The media seemed to make much of the fact that Jess Ennis and Greg Rutherford "failed", but why should it be the same?
This year Team GB has created a DIFFERENT story. We’ve excelled in new sports, sports we’ve never been great in before in before – a first ever GB gold in diving, a world record in swimming with a first GB gold in that sport since 1988, and we’ve achieved the first gold medal in golf. Best of all can only be Max Whitlock's two gold medals after GB had no gymnastics team AT ALL in Beijing.
Most magnificently is that it's the women who are standing out this year winning a first ever GB medal in the hammer and a first ever GB medal for trampoline. Not only that both Laura Trott and Charlotte Dujardin became the first women to get three gold medals!
And this is only the first week!!
Good luck for tonight to Mark Cavendish, go get that elusive medal .

So GB is SECOND in the Olympic standings! Is this a first? That's amazing, above China for once! No one is ever going to beat USA though, especially because of that Phelps guy. It won't last long though - China will surely kick back.
Nevermind.
I heard on the news tonight that YORKSHIRE, if it were a country on it's own would be 13th in the standings . That's above Spain, Canada and New Zealand.

No regrets for Delpo, he gave everything and played at a great level. Congrats to Murray, he's a hell of a player.

Cavendish did well last night with a silver in the omnium. That elusive Olympic medal was caught.
Next, tonight is Jason Kenny's big moment. If he get's gold in the Keirin he'll have as many medals as Sir Chris Hoy, that's 7 medals with 6 golds. If his fiancée Laura Trott wins as well tonight (in the onmium) she'll have four golds, more than any other GB woman. Which means their household will have 10 Olympic gold medals between them.
AND they will likely win more in 2020!

Does not this picture gladden your heart? You don't have to be a GB supporter to appreciate the happy-vibes of their success.
GB's Laura Trott and Jason Kenny BOTH won their golds last night making them literally a GOLDEN couple . Laura cried at both her and Jason's wins yet Jason's reaction to that nail-biting keirin was no more emotional than if he'd gone out for a bottle of milk and got the last semi-skimmed on the shelf!
In my opinion not only does this make me nearly as happy and joyous as getting to see Jeff Lynne live, but both of those lovely cyclists are in themselves just as sweet, humble and talented as the ELO man himself. Enjoying an Olympic success is always better when you're really behind the people who win.

More glorious happy-joyousness in picture form from team GB at the Olympics:
This is perhaps my favourite photo of the entire games -
Alistair Brownlee wins the triathlon (retaining his 2012 gold) while his younger brother Jonathan comes second (bettering his 2012 bronze).
Now this picture proves you should never give up -
Nick Skelton, aged 58, riding in this 7th Olympics, FINALLY gets a medal - and it's GOLD! This proves that nothing, not even a broken neck or an artificial hip should stop a true Olympian.

These are your Olympics, guys. After watching the final of women hockey in which Great Britain beat Holland on shootouts after looking like they couldn't even come out of their final 3rd, it's clear that everything in these games will go your way, even when the opposing team has played much better. Talking about hockey, gold for our men team yesterday!
