Thanks for the review! That's fantastic about winning the guitar! Wow! Do you play? Not yet but I'm going to. I was a beginner bass-player. queenofthehours , I had a sneaky suspicion when reading about you buying a raffle ticket that you won that beautiful guitar! " style="max-width:100%;"] (I always reduce the window making long posts easier to read, having to scroll down more. I'm glad I do this!) Interesting and fun review. You don't miss a thing. Always good insights about our Jeff, too. Was there a large crowd? When do the guitar lessons start? Charlie can be your producer one day. The venue was full but it wasn't large, I'm not good with crowd sizes but I'd say it held just over 200-ish. Charlie would be a great producer! I'm looking to buy 'Play in a Day' with immediate effect. Get it on eBay...... Never!
Heck no! I'd hang that baby up on a wall! Pride of place. Like where the TV is. That's an idea! It has autographs and a cool sticker on it so I don't really want to play it and rub them off. Does anybody know how to protect them? Right now it's still in the box - I occasionally get it out and lovingly play an Em chord though. My plan was to get a uke first and progress to an acoustic guitar, now I've jumped ahead and got an electric one.

If you can play an E major and an A chord you can already play "Jambalaya on the bayou", "Achy breaky heart" and a a few other American hits.

“Jeff had Discovery hair on a AITU body” That was great to win the guitar in the raffle I bet you were chuffed, I’d like to think it was the forum good luck rubbing off on you "Jeff's" outfit was up to date but the hair was rather more full than is current. I KNOW it was forum luck! I felt like The Chosen One or something
Another sparkling review from queenofthehours , sounds like another epic gig from this band and you describe it perfectly. Loads and loads of songs too, how long were they on for? And to win the raffle on top of all that, how marvellous! It was a lovely (or even a wilbury) twist for me, I was totally not expecting such a development. Do you play? Even if you don't you can take some awesome pics of yourself posing with the guitar, jolly well done. And you probably won because you bought tickets for the right reason. Bravo! It started at 7.30 and by the time I left the venue it was gone 10pm because the band were in the foyer signing autographs for ages. Plus there was an interval. They got through tons of songs and it never felt rushed. You didn't leave feeling like you wanted more.
I've decided to keep the guitar safe for now and get an acoustic or a uke to mess around and learn with. A guitar like that is too ornamental to play with amateur fingers.

Sounds like a fantastic show, Queen, how brilliant that you won the guitar! That's so nice that they included a special tribute to Tom. Now I want to go and see them again. Especially now Jeff has a snazzy green guitar. Are this year's bears as cute as Charlie T and Shuv? The bears look bigger and the fur feels different but still soft. Each bear had a coloured ribbon around their necks and all had badges. They were very cute indeed, I'm sorry I didn't get one but I was distracted.

Yippee! The Tribute to Roy Orbison and the Travelling Wilburys is coming back to town next month and I'm going .
They did actually spell it "Travelling" not "Traveling" on the tickets.
It's been nearly two years since their last visit and it's the only concert I've treated myself to since ELO last year. This is because I'm saving up all my money for a big show and if it's the real-life Jeff on a new UK tour that's all the better.
They'll probably have another prize draw for signed guitar and I'll enter for a laugh but there's no way I'd win it again! Lightning never strikes twice (wasn't that a Dave Morgan song?) as they say.
I doubt there'll be any changes to the set list but I don't care. The highlight for me will be hearing "Tom" sing 'Runnin' Down a Dream'.

I went to the Traveling Wilburys Tribute show earlier this month and it was as good as ever.
'Jeff' looked very cool (I think he'd got some new shades) and very curly. This year he seemed to sound more like real Jeff than ever and sang 'Roll Over Beethoven', 'MBS', 'Sweet Talkin' Woman' and 'All Over The World'. I sang along with every word and had a thoroughly good time. Although not as good a time as some people as 'ROB' in particular seemed to get at least one woman up and dancing at the front on the stage. You could tell 'Jeff' wasn't real Jeff mainly because he didn't wear entirely black and was quite a bit more lively that the real Jeff onstage but I know he's supposed to be channelling 'Wilbury Jeff' so that's ok.
There was a new 'George' and 'Roy' also sounded particularly like the real Roy this year. 'Bob' was my favourite at this show and not just because he's a local boy from Sheffield. 'Bob' seemed so unlike real Bob and was extremely cheerful and happy. The show opened with 'The Mighty Quinn' which featured the treat of a 'Jeff' guitar solo so alike to the perfection of real Jeff. Even on 'MBS' fake Jeff was so spot on you'd not know the difference.
'Bob' performed a magnificent 'Tweeter and the Monkey Man' and 'Tom' performed a fantastic 'Runnin' Down A Dream' with an excellent guitar solo by 'George' (who was probably the most lively character in the whole show. He never stayed still.
I understand that there is a new 'Jim Keltner' in the band because the other 'Jim' is now a kind of substitute 'Bob' for when 'Bob 1' is busy with his other commitments.
The final song of the night was 'She's My Baby' and a few more people got up and danced. There were at least a handful of Jeff aficionados in the audience as one chap behind me clearly knew all about the Idle Race.
On the merch stall they had the Traveling Wilbeary teddies for sale again but I only bought a pen, badge and a snazzy colourful programme. They also raffled off another signed guitar. The band stayed around to chat at the end of the show and I got my programme signed by everyone.
