Here we go, the pictures of my weekend away, our ticket allowed us to visit the Dazzle Ship in dry dock at The Museum of Liverpool. Back to the hotel for a shower and then back out, the hotel was opposite the Liver Building The concert was to make money for the Museum and was the first time they had done such an event, it was held in the foyer!! Nice shot with the moon and clock. This should be framed. Argggggg

I’m off to see Procol Harum at the Dominion Theatre in London on the 25th of November. It’s part of the Friday Night Is Music Night www.bbc.co.uk/events/enm38g programme on BBC Radio 2. Has anyone else got tickets? There’s just a few left: www.dominiontheatre.com/procol-harum/
I’m treating this as my Hyde Park event. Since I didn’t get the chance to see Jeff I’m going to see my second hero (Gary Brooker) and second favourite band instead! I’m very excited indeed. This is a really big deal for me as you could say I was introduced to Procol via Jeff Lynne and it will be the first time I'll have ever seen the band live.
I believe Evita has just finished showing at the Dominion and there’s some irony in the fact that Gary Brooker actually sung in the Madonna film version.
Has anyone ever seen Procol Harum live? It should be a fantastic concert. I think it's going to be broadcast on Radio 2 on Friday 28th.

It's your first time? Wow, what a baptism that should be Conquistador was played today on Radio 2, what a fab song. I'm deffo going to listen or watch it on the red button if it goes on there. Hoping to hear Homburg and my absolute fave Pandora's Box. Wishing you a totally fab time, are you going to try and meet the band afterwards?

Yup, first time and to be honest I didn’t think I’d ever get to see them; such is the rarity of UK gigs – in particular UK gigs with an orchestra. I’ve just heard the concert is completely sold out – I’ve never been to a sell out before, another first!
‘Conquistador’, I like to think is Procol’s ‘Roll Over Beethoven’ and I’ve no doubt that it will be played at the encore. ‘Homburg’ is another guaranteed song as is ‘A Whiter Shade of Pale’. Gary not singing that would be like Jeff not singing ‘MBS’.
Thanks unomusette, I do intend to have a very fab time! Of course I'll definitely visit the stage door but I'm not holding my breath.

It'll be a breeze! Get loads of cheeky selfies with all of the band, then come back and show them off to us

If anyone doesn't know, Gary Brooker is the only original performing member left in the band, much like Jeff (GB doesn't need a Tandy as he plays the keys himself).

I took my first selfie when I went to Liverpool with me and Mrs Wimp and The Mersey in the background, it's hilarious I look like a rabbit caught in the headlights my kids loved it, where are you suppose to look obviously not at the screen like I did, and NO I'm not posting it on the forum

I'm off to France tomorrow to see Royal Blood in Rouen. As usual it was easier to get tickets there than to go to any UK dates, don't get me started on ticket touts, grrr! Back on Monday, be good whilst I'm gone, won't you? Royal Blood are only a drummer and a bassist, you wouldn't believe how much racket they can produce I shall probably be deaf when I get back. Brilliant!

I want all to know she is leaving our tail!
Toots, are the bass and drums all they can afford?

I've never heard of Royal Blood until now. Bass and drums - that sounds intriguing. My two favourite band instruments.

On Monday I'm finally off to the big city to see Procol Harum play with the BBC Concert Orchestra. I’m very excited, the only thing more exciting would be if I were going to see Jeff and ELO. But as I'm not, I feel extra privileged to be able to see my number two hero Gary Brooker.
It should be a fantastic concert.
