Just heard about a man who "went to see ELO" a few days ago. One of the band members was in a rather bad shape and they had grey hair, so they must have been original ELO guys!

I've just looked in the mirror and I think I could be an ex member That's what a friend of mine said when I told him about this. "Maybe 'ex-ELO member' means 'elderly person'". But now that I got the frustration out of my system I can cool down. I'm not on a "The Orchestra sucks" trip here...

As some of you know, I went to Poland last week to see The Orchestra Featuring Former Members of ELO and ELO Part 2 (let's get the name right!) They played at the ICE Krakow Congress Centre. Here are some pics my friend took. I'll write about the show when I can. Ticket to the moon, er, to the gig. Cello my old friend... Yes, that's "Sir" Louis Clark sitting behind the keyboards. (He got a massive cheer from the crowd, who were delighted to see him back on stage after he was so ill, earlier this year.)

I loved the part where you "got the name straight". Even Parthenon Huxley keeps calling it "The Orchestra (Former ELO Members). (http://www.parthenonhuxley.com/) My favorite example: But, alas, no, my band is NOT called "Electric Light Orchestra." My band is called THE ORCHESTRA (Former ELO Members). That has been our name since 2000.So his band is not called Electric Light Orchestra, but he posted a link to some review that starts like this: Tarheel ex-pat Parthenon Huxley, currently based in the D.C. area and a member of ELO (aka "The Orchestra"). And he didn't made a comment on the "member of ELO" thing. He seems like a nice guy and I LOVED his pictures from Finland (my home country), but he keeps omitting the "ELO 2" from the band's name. This is the first time I've come across of a musician who doesn't know what his band is called.

Here's a video that one fan filmed, of most of the concert. (He didn't get the band's name right either, tl77 !) Hope you all enjoy it. Set list was: Evil Woman, Rock 'n' Roll Is King, Sweet Talkin' Woman, Can't Get It Out Of My Head, Hold On Tight, All Over The World, Twilight, Strange Magic, Confusion, Showdown, Last Train To London (then band introductions), Livin' Thing, Xanadu, Ma-Ma-Ma Belle, Shine A Little Love, Telephone Line, Standin' In The Rain, Mr Blue Sky, Ticket To The Moon, Do Ya, Don't Bring Me Down. Listen out for the bits in Ma-Ma-Ma Belle when they change the lyrics and sing about each other. Looking around me, at first I'd thought there were a few hundred people in the audience, but if you look at the upper galleries, they were jam-packed! One fan estimated that there were 2,000 people at the show. It's official: I can't count. smiley-music025

vlogdance" A magnifying glass (called a hand lens in laboratory contexts) is a convex lens that is used to produce a magnified image of an object. The lens is usually mounted in a frame with a handle." (From Wikipedia) That's what I need for seeing those pictures lol C'mon, j/k

I recently poked fun at The Orchestra members with that April Fools prank - but that being said, I do find them to be a talented bunch with some great songs. Here's an interesting article & interview with guitarist & vocalist, Parthenon Huxley (P. Hux). He's got an interesting history, and his solo music is quite good. He even has an album of acoustic ELO covers which are very well-done! blurtonline.com/feature/orchestrator-originator-name-p-hux/
