Hope Sir Lou is recovered in time, it's certainly something to aim for.... What's wrong with him?

The Beatles tribute band "Nube 9" will play there. They are from Argentina, I went to see them play live several times and they also played as backup artists at Ringo's concert at Buenos Aires in 2011. They are great and very nice guys. Uh, and I almost forgot to say: their leader is a big ELO and Jeff Lynne fan.

The Orchestra plays today a sold out show here in Finland. I hope that most of the audience is aware that they are not seeing "the band we listened to when we were young". As I said before, it just said "Electric Light Orchestra" in capital letters in an ad here in Finland, so some casual fans were probably fooled.

I met a woman at a show last year who told me "ELO, oh yeah. I saw them play live on a Moody Blues Cruise". I was like "yeah-no, that was NOT elo" so they definitely do fool the casual fan.

Honestly, if Mik were to quit the band, would they still go on advertising it as "former members of ELO"?

When the second gig in Finland had been added, this announcement was on "mesta.net", which seems to be a big web page in Finland, although I don't know anything about it: www.mesta.net/elo-yhtyeelle-lisakonsertti-helsinkiin/The heading translated to Finnish: "An additional concert for the band ELO in Helsinki" The second comment below the news does say that this is misleading marketing. I don't blame the band, but there are a lot of marketing people and such who are creating a lot of false memories for people. "Yeah, I saw ELO..."

They even placed a video of the real ELO?

Yeah. After the ELO-heading the first sentence does start saying "The band bearing the name 'Former members of Electric Light Orchestra and ELO II"...Omitting "The orchestra". They don't claim that it's ELO after the heading, but does a casual fan stop thinking what the "former members..." means after seeing the "ELO"-heading? The final paragraph tells the history of ELO in two sentences, and then comes the video. In any case it should be "for member of ELO and former members of ELO 2", as Louis Clark was never a member of ELO, even though they want to make it look that way.

I think it's great they continue playing ELO music live, but it's not great how they act like they're a straight continuation from ELO - like a disciple chain that has never been broken. lol Clark seemes like a real funny, shy and humble guy when I saw an interview. So I was surprised when even he talked about "joining" ELO when they did Eldorado. In a way he joined the "ELO camp", but not the band.

Just heard about a man who "went to see ELO" a few days ago. One of the band members was in a rather bad shape and they had grey hair, so they must have been original ELO guys!
