No, it's there, Helmut83. Click on the word "article" Ah, bad on me. I didn't know Mac Allister's origins were Irish, like others I made the mistake of assuming his family must have been Scottish. The Mac Allisters are from La Pampa, a province in the center of the country which has the eastern half which is productive and the wester that's desert. As the article says, Alexis' father was a very important Boca Juniors player in the '90s, he used to be my hero when I was a kid. But his son proved much better. In the norther part of the province of Buenos Aires and the southern part of Santa Fe the Irish influx is very strong. My family has land in Pergamino and there's plenty of nearby places with Irish names and people with Irish surnames. The area has had quite a lot of English and even some Welsh immigration too, so for me it's often hard to tell which is which (sorry about that, haha ). Wheelright, Hughes, Duggan, Maguire, Gahan, Pearson, Kenny, Doyle, Heavy, Todd... to mention a few. I know there's a mix of the three in there. In my particular case I have two brothers-in-law with Irish surnames and ancestry. One is named Moore, no idea the origin, and the other is Casey, from Westmeath. That means all of my 4 nephews and nieces carry an Irish surname.

RIP Pelé, legend.
I disagree with Timeblue, I still think Maradona was the best ever, but that doesn't mean I think any less of O Rei.

That's OK, if everyone liked the same thing the world would be a boring place!

So what do you football fans Horacewimp dillwyn tremblinwilbury Timeblue Buttler and others think about this World Cup? Do you have high expectations for your team (sorry TremblinWilbury and Buttler)? Who do you see as candidates for winning it? Is it going to be a good World Cup because players get to it in midseason form, or a bad one because it will be played in a country with no football tradition and not very apt for the multicultural party that a World Cup is supposed to be? Sorry, a bit late. Congrats to Argentina anyway...

Talk of Man City being deducted 15 points for financial irregularities, we have been so poor this season they would still be above LFC!

Jessie Marsch sacked, I didn't see that one coming. He had the team finally playing together and they were starting to play some good football.

I couldn’t see where our next win was coming from and shocking we didn’t sort the LB position, playing a CH at LB all season…. Need someone with premiership experience, we can’t go down again. I did like Jessie a decent man and I wish him all the best in the future.
