My favourite goal ever was scored at the '78 WC, Archie Gemmill scored a fantastic solo effort against Holland to put them 3-1 up at the time and gave them hope (only for Holland to score again soon after)

It was Helmut, was an amazing sight when the team came out. My local football team played in light blue and white stripes and the supporters would chant Argentina, Argentina when they came out. Hahaha... My favourite goal ever was scored at the '78 WC, Archie Gemmill scored a fantastic solo effort against Holland to put them 3-1 up at the time and gave them hope (only for Holland to score again soon after) I remember Gemmill's brilliant goal, it won the award for best goal of that Cup. Johnny Rep's ensuing goal was spectacular too, it was a long range shot, one of several long distance goals that Holland scored during that World Cup. When I say "I remember that goal", I don't remember it from back then of course -I hadn't even been born- but because at age 15 I became a football World Cups nerd and I bought a whole videotheque (VHS, internet was still not a thing) comprising all the old footage available of past World Cups, and also a very complete book about them.

Any lob over the goalie and into the net I still call a "Johnny Rep Goal"

I thought Norman Hunter had re-signed for LUFC.... It was a bad injury, hope young Harvey comes back even stronger. The way he applauded the Leeds supporters was a touch of class. For me the ref could have blown the whistle there and then.

It WASN'T a sending off offence, let me say that straight away. From what I saw, it might have been a little clumsy but he certainly didn't mean to do any harm. Both sets of fans soon realised that (which was obvious by the applause around the ground) Even VVD was seen consoling Struijk. I don't think it altered the game though as we were 2 nil up although LUFC seemed to play better after the sending off. Never a dull moment in this fixture!

Pascal was in shock you could see it in his face. The sending off made no difference to the game Liverpool simply out played Leeds, they will be challenging for their title back. Nice to see the tweets between Pascal and Harvey today. Was a bit worried about the body language from the Leeds players they looked tired, first time I’ve seen that in three seasons.
