external cold hard cash ..... Since 4 August 2008, the club has been owned by Sheikh Mansour, one of football's wealthiest owners, with an estimated individual net worth of at least £17 billion and a family fortune of at least $1 trillion.[2] Sheikh Mansour bought the club in 2008 for £210 million in a much publicised deal and has since accumulated annual losses of £535 million, excluding approximately £200 million on facility upgrades.[3] However the value of the club has soared tenfold from £210 million in 2008 to over £2 billion in 2018 according to Forbes representing a realistic opportunity of profit on Mansour's investment if he was to sell the club to a willing buyer at the market rate.[4] Although the club is still majority owned by Mansour, in 2015, a 13.79% stake purchase of the club's parent company, City Football Group (CFG), by the CITIC Group for £265 million valued it at $3 billion.[5] Plastic club ......

Moores eventually sold the club to American businessmen George Gillett and Tom Hicks on 6 February 2007. The deal valued the club and its outstanding debts at £218.9 million. The pair paid £5,000 per share, or £174.1m for the total shareholding and £44.8m to cover the club's debts.[119] Disagreements between Gillett and Hicks, and the fans' lack of support for them, resulted in the pair looking to sell the club.[120] Martin Broughton was appointed chairman of the club on 16 April 2010 to oversee its sale.[121] In May 2010, accounts were released showing the holding company of the club to be £350m in debt (due to leveraged takeover) with losses of £55m, causing auditor KPMG to qualify its audit opinion.[122] The group's creditors, including the Royal Bank of Scotland, took Gillett and Hicks to court to force them to allow the board to proceed with the sale of the club, the major asset of the holding company. A High Court judge, Mr Justice Floyd, ruled in favour of the creditors and paved the way for the sale of the club to Fenway Sports Group (formerly New England Sports Ventures)

Since LFC were promoted in 1962,they have never finished lower than 8th. Meanwhile 'plastic' clubs like MCFC and Chelski have been up and down like the proverbial yoyo...

I wonder when or if an English manager will ever win the title again. Last man Howard Wilkinson a long time ago. Forget which club it was!!!

Nationality of the manager is almost irrelevant IMHO.
It really mostly depends who gets the biggest player budget ... money buys final position the majority of the time

That’s a great record never realised that. The Liverpool team of the 80s played some fantastic football, 5 titles and 3 European cups, plus domestic cup wins. Not bad.

The video down below popped up in the news feed to my phone today. I thought I'd share it with you. Detective Garda Colm Horkan was a life-long member of a local GAA club in Charleston, Co Mayo. He was also a life-long fan of a certain football club. Colm was called out to an incident late one night - and was shot dead. Even though the pandemic has had a profound effect on Ireland - and everywhere else - the loss of this man was deeply felt. His local club put together their tribute. You'll recognise the backing tune... Although, not from Charlestown, I know it well. Didn't know the man, but it doesn't surprise me that he was well liked. They raise decent people there

Another good LUFC win under our belt, I felt very anxious before the match the second half calmed my nerves.

Another good LUFC win under our belt, I felt very anxious before the match the second half calmed my nerves. Wish we could transfer 3 of the goals to the Swansea game. Pablo once again changes the game for us. Great goal from Cooper.
