Good! Wales came out alive of the Group of Death and eliminated the host country (England). Thanks Horace for adding the @!

Good on the Pumas, they won 64-19 and now they get to face Ireland in what will be a new chapter in their rivalry (well, we like to consider it kind of a derby against the Irish, although they probably see us more as occasional rivals). That game will be held in a strange city called Caerdydd, I don't know if anyone here has heard about it.

It's the England World Cup why are they playing in Caerdydd, can't Wales wait and host the cup themselves

Is it officially England who are hosting the World Cup then? I thought it was the UK as a whole, that's what made me cross when everyone kept on about the host nation going out when England bowed out. I shall have to take it back if England were the only hosts, this will go horribly against the grain for me But if they are, then yes - why is exotic Caerdydd having to put on some of the games?

Yeah, maybe you shouldn't cross because officially this is England's World Cup, not the UK as a whole. They just gave some games to Wales because the Millenium is such a big rugby temple and they'd rather have a full Millenium (which looks great) than a small-size stadium anywhere else in England. And I don't know about this exotic Caerdydd place, they say it's located somewhere in a far away mountainous country... I just wish it brings some luck to the Pumas when they play there next weekend.

Well obviously the Pumas will feel right at home in Caerdydd, there is a very strong link between Wales and that part of the world as you very well know. I just hope the local bakeries are tripling their production of bara brith right now, to be sure of satisfying the demand. Here's some to get you in the mood

Yum! Thanks! Yeah, it will definitely help me get in tone with the place where the game will be held, and the fact that it's so delicious doesn't bother either.
I'm hoping the Welsh in attendance will have in mind that connection you mentioned and be on our side, helping us a bit to level the support. We Argies are noisy when it comes to supporting our teams, but we will need help against the sea of green that will surely invade the Millenium.

The atmosphere will be amazing in Cardiff with Argies, Irish and native Welsh all mixing together, it's tempting to go and join in myself. That's one of the great aspects of rugby, it's usually very friendly and fun with no aggression as when football fans meet up

Yeah, rugby crowds are fantastic, people go there to have fun, as it should be. Ha! unomusette, you were just talking about the "Welsho-Argentine" connection... well, I was wandering around a rugby forum and in a thread called "Ireland Argentina spite thread" I just read this, which I had to share with you:

Hmm, I'm not sure which of us should feel offended. But I'm happy to take revenge for both of us

Haha... those are Irish trying to diss primarily Argentina, and given that they are on the subject Wales gets it too.
Hey, at least they were knowledgeable enough to be aware about the Welsh in the Patagonia!
