How bazaar. Love to have the original, but I'd take a copy.

Interesting. So Face The Music was already a gold status album in the US before it was even released in "England"? ( no ELO fans in Scotland, Wales or N.Ireland then?).

Just watching the BBC quiz show Pointless. The contestants were asked to choose from a list of questions, including "Name the band fronted by Jeff Lynne that had a hit with 'Evil Woman' in 1975."
They all avoided the question! It wouldn't have been a bad score though - 20-something points out of a hundred. (Low scores are what to aim for in this game.)

On today's Popmaster, the bonus round theme was transport. Ken played a clip of Confusion and asked what was on the other side of the double A side single. The contestant answered the question correctly.

I popped over to the supermarket this lunchtime. As I searched the aisles, Mr Blue Sky started playing.
Sadly, an assistant rattled a trolley past me all the way through "Please turn me over". But I sang along in my head.

But I sang along in my head. That's not good enough! You should have belted out "Please turn me over" as you were rifling through the frozen bags of veg....

And I suppose you bellow "Won't somebody throw me down a line" every time you pass a building site. Not to mention growling "You better get your face on board the very next train" on each visit to the railway station.

Also, when I did my parachute jump last year I shouted "I take the fall" when I exited the plane....

On Radio 2's Sunday night, Unwind show, the actress Tamzin Outhwaite chose MBS as her favourite "kick-back track". She claimed that she first saw ELO at The Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park, supported by Thin Lizzy(!) when she was about 13, which would date it around 1983? Lizzy did support ELO, I believe, on a tour in 1973 and did play The Rainbow with them but Ms. Outhwaite would have been about three! Some confusion here, I think.
