Just switched on BBC Radio 2's Pick of the Pops. This afternoon's chart is from 1978 and Mr Blue Sky was playing.

I was listening to a Radio 4 programme on BBC Sounds marking 100 years of the Greenwich Time Signal and towards the end they mentioned the pips had been sampled in music by ELO and The KLF while playing part of the intro to Here Is The News in the background. If you want to hear that part just go to the 23 minute mark on this link: www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001w0yw

I've mentioned this before, when I was in Malta in 1991 I was in a bar when the radio station news came on and they used the intro to HITN to introduce it! That's the one! I would say that it takes me back but I hear it once or twice a month.

cool, I hadn't seen that before. I like the relaxed Mike de Albuquerque and the silver guitar. It's probably full playback, but Jeff's microphone seems to be open (?), I think I can hear doubling sometimes. Wasn't there also something about Jeff's white jacket? I mean, that was a topic somewhere before.

Turn to Stone on Gold just now. Nothing surprising in that but the DJ decided to impart a bit of trivia after, namely Jeff's mom wanted him to work for ATV (local tv station in Birmingham) as she didn't think he was gonna make it and his dad didn't think much of his songs either and told him so!
Nothing like a bit of parental encouragement, is there!

Don’t know if this was already mentioned… just saw the Bob Marley One Love movie and It showed a record chart where Marley’s album was number 7(?) with the album above it being A New World Record….

Heard the opening lyrics of "Do Ya" by ELO from 1976 on MSNBC's Morning Joe with Joe Scarborough this morning to start a segment at around 8:40 AM CST! Heard the chorus of "Telephone Line" by ELO from 1976 on MSNBC's Morning Joe with Joe Scarborough as bumper music to close a segment at 8:30 AM CST this morning!

Just switched on Greatest Hits Radio - don't do this often, but just wanted to hear Ken Bruce's reassuring voice.
Ken's now playing Sweet Talkin' Woman. Thank you, Ken.

On an episode of "Young Sheldon", which is set during the 80's, a Wilbury song, "End OF The Line" was playing on a radio.
