Just got back from a two night beer break at the seaside with my mates I can report the following, All Over the World and Hold on Tight heard at bars. A weird version of Mr Blue Sky with Jeremy Vine singing over the top on Steve Wright show and Mr Blue Sky on Sara Cox’s show heard on the drive home.

On the 70s Channel. Oh, the no- expenses-spared glamour of an ELO video shoot.
If only, though, the cameraman could have got just a bit closer to Jeff, I couldn't quite see the hair up his nostrils.

Round 3 of Richard Osman's House of Game's last night, BBC2 UK ( repeat) was Broken Karioke . The first few lines of a song appear with just the first letter of each word. X X (N W A H) I X. Didn't have a clue, then suddenly the Mrs starts singing Xanadu! " What "? ,you know this song? Oh yeah ,she said, who sings it again? Olivia Newton John l said,..and do you know the backing band?? ELO. I've got this upstairs, and the film. She was drifting out of the conversation by now. 20 years of being forced to watch Greese with her and l never mentioned it. I should have guessed it as soon as Richard Osman said, this one's from 1980

Morning crossword puzzle had this clue: "Do Ya rock gp", 3 letters. Guess they save the 4 letter version for the Sunday puzzle.

I don't think the 5 letter band name is ever going to make it into a crossword. But Jeff's name does occasionally make it - "least known Wilbury" is always Lynne even though I want to answer Lefty.

On BBC Radio 2's Popmaster quiz, Ken just asked which year Wild West Hero was a hit. The contestant replied "1980". No points awarded. (Still, I can't talk. Later on, someone was asked to name three hits by Culture Club. Shouting along at home, I remembered two, but completely forgot Karma Chameleon. Oops.)

Still not up there with their profound and classic contemplation on the nature of human conflict :"War,war is stupid and people are stupid...." ("The War Song", in case you didn't realise)

Sitting here in my living room office, looking out at the world, the sun has disappeared. Rain is falling... Quite a nicely-made video, that

good find, tremblinwilburythe movie is from 1980 which helps the images fit the TIME has anyone read the book or seen the film? Lathe of Heaven it looks like there was a remake about 20 years ago reading about it on Rotten Tomatoes - both the book and the original PBS film seem to have been cult favorites but I had never heard of it
