Listening to the Popmaster quiz on Radio 2. Ken just asked: "According to Electric Light Orchestra's 1983 single, Rock'n'Roll is what?"
The contestant didn't know. But at least he didn't say "cheap", "important in the Industrial Revolution", or "a thousand pounds". That would have been absurd!

Haven't posted in a while so I'm sure I've missed many a report of DBMD on the radio But this, I thought this was worth mentioning... Spotted in the wild at Sam Goody

A bit of a tenuous connection, this, but...
This morning the BBC has announced the death of former Ipswich Town and England footballer Paul Mariner, aged 68.
According to Bev's book, "Paul Mariner" was the alias Richard Tandy used when the band used to book into hotels - Jeff being Spratley Bagweed, Mik Freddie Frinton, etc.

And they put it under E.... Good point, I love looking through the 'E' section trying to find something rare, I'll have to trawl through the 'J' section now....

On Popmaster this morning, Ken asked: "In which year did this week's top three have 'Jump To The Beat' by Stacy Lattisaw at No. 3, 'Use It Up And Wear It Out' by Odyssey at No. 2, and 'Xanadu' by Olivia Newton-John and the Electric Light Orchestra at No. 1?" The contestant got it right with "1980." Nice to know there are some Odyssey fans out there.

ELO clue on Jeopardy tonight - ELO covered this composer’s Hall of the Mountain King.
Sadly I didn’t come up with it - starts with G, five letters, … But the contestant nailed it.

Grieg wasn't it? Was his first name Edward or something similar?
